to stay.” Her eyes moved to lock with his. She licked her lips as her gaze briefly touched his before moving back up to his eyes. “Topper says that Sean sent you to me.”
Frost closed his fingers around hers as he responded to her unspoken question. “The boys said the same thing outside of your law man’s office. They said Sean sent them to help me find you,” he replied in a husky tone.
“I don’t want to be alone,” she whispered, a slight pleading in her eyes. “Tonight, just for tonight, I don’t want to be alone.”
“Then, you won’t be,” Frost promised her.
What he did not add was that she would never be alone again if he could help it. He knew what she was thinking. She believed that he would leave her in the morning to return to his world.
She believed that for one night, she could embrace the fire burning silently between them. She did not understand that he knew differently. That she was his.
Sean may have sent him, but it was written in the ice scrolls that a warrior would know when he met his soul mate when the ice danced across her skin for him. It was the Goddess’ way of showing that his mate could live upon his world as one with her warrior, forever.

    Chapter 11
Lacey stared up at Frost. Uncertainty, insecurity, and fear pulled at her. She had never been with anyone other than Sean. Hell, she had never even thought… well, except for a brief flash a little over a year before, about having a one-night stand.
But, this would be different, she thought to herself as he gently pulled her into his arms. He’ll leave this world so I know it won’t last. I won’t have to wonder what it would be like if I ran into him again.
Her fears melted as he wrapped his arms around her and began kissing her. Her own hands moved to his shoulders before she wound them around his neck. Fire licked at her nerve endings reminding her of how long it had been since she had felt the touch of another. His lips burned a path along her jaw down to the smooth curve of her neck, drawing a hungry whimper from her.
“Please…,” she begged, turning her head to press her lips against his temple.
“Frost,” he muttered hoarsely. “My name is Frost. Say it. I want to hear my name on your lips.”
Lacey paused as his roughly spoken demand washed over her. Frost. Somehow knowing his name made what was about to happen much more intimate, more real. Doubt, hesitation, and reality started to crowd her mind. What if….
“Say my name, Lacey,” he whispered, pressing her back down against the soft bedspread. “Say it… please.”
Lacey stared up into his blue eyes. “Frost,” she said in a soft voice.
A shudder ran through him. Determined not to let the fears and doubt overwhelm her, he sealed his lips over hers again. He rolled until she was caged beneath his body. Each kiss ignited a new fire inside them both. He could feel her moving restlessly under him. Her body strained to get closer even as he held his own up so that he didn’t crush her.
His lips tore from hers in surprise when the cool air from the room, washed over his suddenly bare skin. A shy smile shone up at him even as her fingers slid over his shoulders and down his chest. Deciding that he wanted to feel more of her shy exploration against his skin, he rolled until she was lying on top of him.
“Touch me, Lacey,” Frost encouraged. “I need to feel your hands against my skin.”
Lacey’s hair hung down like a curtain, shutting them in their own intimate, little world. Her bright brown eyes glowed with desire. Her slender fingers curled against his chest as she held herself up.
“I… want you to touch me, too,” she admitted shyly. “It has been so long… I might…”
“You will be perfect,” he assured her. “Tell me what you like. We’ll take it slow this first time.”
“Thank you,” she said, biting her lip.
“Touch me,” he demanded in a low voice.
He was determined that she be satisfied first, with no
