slid up into her hair. She moaned softly as she pulled away. He placed his forehead on hers.
“Good night, Baby.”
CHAPTER NINE
Emily woke up and managed to feed Emma as well as herself. Paul helped her distract Emma as she dressed for her interview. Her mother surprised her with a new dress for the occasion. She zipped up the light blue dress and found a pair of matching heels. She twisted her hair up into a bun on her head and smiled as she applied her makeup.
She looked older, more professional but she knew she could get used to it. She stood up and looked one more time in the mirror. She grabbed her purse and headed out the front door.
When she arrived at the museum, she entered through the main doors and smiled as she remembered the night Alex brought her there for their first date. The lobby was filled with school children and tour groups. She approached the security desk and received her visitor tag. She headed towards the elevator and joined a group of employees heading towards their offices.
When the elevators doors opened, her eyes glanced around. She spotted the receptionist’s desk and explained that she was there for an interview with George. She smiled and offered Emily a seat in the waiting area.
Emily looked around the beautiful office, she spotted that each office had an assistant who sat in front of it. Her eyes glanced down the hallway at a set of heavy oak doors. She smiled as she assumed that was Alex’s office. Her suspicions were proved true when Sue stepped out into the hallway and sat at her desk in front of them.
Emily’s stomach tensed when Sue spotted her and smiled. She got up from her desk and walked down the hallway. “Good Morning, Emily.”
Emily stood up to greet her. “Good Morning, Sue. How are you?”
“I’m great. I wanted to take a moment and apologize for my actions. Sometimes I get caught up in my job and I forget that other people have personal lives. I didn’t mean any harm the other day.”
Emily smiled. “It’s ok. No harm done. Is Alex in yet?”
“Of course but he is walking around talking with his staff. He likes to stay on top of things around here.” Sue smiled as she headed back towards her desk.
Emily sat back down just as George walked into the waiting area and introduced himself. They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries.
“Look who wanted to poke his nose into my interview,” George laughed as Alex approached them.
“Good Morning, George.”
“Morning, Boss. I think you already know Miss. Emily Stone.”
Emily smiled at him. “Good Morning, Alex.”
“Good Morning, Emily,” Alex turned back towards George. “Can you make sure you bring her to my office once you are finished?”
“Of course, are you sure you don’t want to join the interview?”
Alex smiled at Emily. “No, I think I will let you handle it, George.” He walked away as Sue ran up to him and started to discuss his schedule for the day.
Emily turned her attention back to George as she followed him down the hallway and into his office. He closed the door and sat behind his desk.
They discussed her college education, they went over her love of the art business and how she desired to be an artist one day. They talked about the job and how she would be in charge of George’s schedule and all his travel arrangements. They discussed the pay scale and talked about the daily routine.
“It sounds like I would be perfect for you, George," Emily playfully said. "I’m ready to learn the ropes and get my foot in the door.”
“Can you start Monday?”
Emily grinned from ear to ear. “Yes, of course, thank you.”
He smiled and stood up. “We start at eight a.m. and we will celebrate by having lunch on Monday.”
“Sounds wonderful, thank you again.” Emily stood up and followed him out of the office.
“I will take you down to Alex’s office. So, how do you know him?” He asked.
Emily looked away realizing that Alex didn’t tell him that
