The Broken
laughs at us. My fist collides
with the wall, splitting my knuckles with a sharp sting.
    “She has to go.
I can’t be around her anymore.”
    Jasper’s hand
rests on my shoulder. “Come on, man. Come have some food and a
beer.”
    I bring my hand
up to examine the damage, flex my hand and wince from the throb. “I
need to shower first.”

S ammy took me. He’s been inside me, finally. He gave
me what I needed; I craved him. My body ached for him, I didn’t
even realise until my body took over and attacked his. I’m a Sammy
addict who was deprived for four years. I needed his touch, his
scent, his voice. My body hummed with life after so long being
dormant. The River who had left four years ago when Danny’s face
replaced the fantasy of Sammy’s creeps back when I’m around
him.
    When Sammy
left, every piece that was me, every part that was Sammy’s River,
left when he did. God, he thought I meant because my dad left. When
he asked me what I meant about my dad’s love being the problem, I
nearly told him about my dad’s ‘love’ for me. All the years he
spent with me, he never asked any questions about my dad’s
over-touchy way with me. Or the fact that Blaydon took so many
harsh beatings. It was normal for Blaydon to have bruises so Sammy
never asked. How sad is that? He had so many of his own issues with
a worthless mother, he was broken in his own way, just like us.
    I slip in my
headphones, scrolling the playlist until I find Bullet For My
Valentine. I listen while the riffs and drum beats work their way
to my limbs, pushing all the pain and broken parts of myself into
movement.
    My muscles
burn. I keep pushing myself, stretching my limbs until they scream
for mercy. The sweat dampens my skin in a warm mist, the heat
emanating from my body layers around me like a fog. I’m just coming
up from a walkover when I notice Sammy standing on the edge of the
platform. I startle, stepping back from instinct.
    “Hey,” he
mouths.
    I pull the
headphones loose. “Hey,” I reply, short of breathe. I lean forward
placing my hands on my knees.
    “You’ve been
out here for hours.”
    I look up at
the bottle of cold water Sammy is holding out to me. I snatch it
from him, breaking the seal and gulping big mouthfuls. The cold
splash on the back of my throat feels amazing. “Thank you.”
    “I wanted to
talk about earlier.”
    “There’s
nothing to say, Sammy.”
    There’s no way
I can tell him about my dad. He’ll feel guilty, and then maybe
question his disappearance. I can’t risk that.
    “Okay, fair
enough. I agree, it was just something that built up and we needed
to get out of our systems.”
    My insides go
ice cold despite the heat pouring from my overworked body. He was
talking about the sex, not my comment about my dad. Oh God.
    I walk over to
him, anger roaring in my veins. I drop my eyelids halfway and look
up at him through my lashes “Is it, Sammy?”
    His brow
creases, his eyes searching mine. “Is it what?” His voice is
hoarse. I smile devilishly. I feel so empowered, so full of
lust.
    “Is it out of
your system now?” I breathe against his ear, before I bite down on
his lobe. Our breathing is causing my chest to rub against his
abs.
    “Fuck, no,” he
growls, grasping my hair and spinning his body around mine so he’s
pushing his front against my back. He forces me forwards, pushing
my exhausted, needy body flat against the back of the house. My
cheek hits the cool panels first, my body follows. He uses his
grasp on my hair to tilt my head back. “You’d better be wet and
ready for me, Twink.”
    He releases my
hair; his hands grasp the waistband of my leggings and he tugs
hard, tearing them down my legs. I lift each foot so he can slip
them from my body. His breath whispers against the back of my
thighs, his teeth sinking into my ass cheek. I whimper from the
sting of his bite, sending shockwaves of pain and pleasure through
my body. He stands back up, his heavy frame
