father made small local deliveries until Jason took over the business adding to the fleet of trucks.
By diversifying the operations, he brought the business forward. Going from the small local deliveries to national deliveries and then expanding again to international.
Over the years and with lots of hard work he turned it into a very successful International Import and Export Business.
He worked damn hard and he played hard too. He was well travelled due to his dealings. At 26, he was a hard-working, well-grounded individual with a good head on his shoulders.
He was by no means loaded; he just invested wisely. The first thing he did when the company had done well was to buy the parents their family home. When his dad had got ill and needed a warmer climate, he bought them a lovely family villa in the Canaries.
It wasn’t an extravagant house in comparison to others that would have been on the market. It was perfect for his parents. It had some land attached. As a property, it had great potential. He had purchased it at a steal; another wise investment.
He had hired a housekeeper, who looked after his mum and dad. They wanted for nothing. Things had been hard when he was growing up, money had always been tight, and his mum had worked at trying to make the little they had last. That’s what had spurned him to do something with his life; he had drive.
He had sat on the side lines for too long. But after that weekend and tonight, he knew he would never let him hurt her like that again, no matter what. Never again he swore to himself.
He was so done with David after that night. Tonight he hadn’t expected to see David there; when he had seen the scumbag manhandling Rebecca he lost it and sprang into action without thinking.
He laughed to himself as the vision of his leaping over the gate and landing a punch in David’s more than surprised face flashed into his head, replaying like a film sequence. It should never have happened especially David being there. Mind you, knowing David, he too was thinking exactly the same. That unnerved him.
Over the last few years he had stayed friends with David only out of loyalty.
He was horrified to see her on that Monday; he certainly wasn’t expecting to see a battered and bruised Rebecca. He wanted to drop the boxes and just hold her. He looked down again at the sleeping Rebecca, and pulled the covers over her shoulder as she snuggled into him.
What happened between them had just happened. It wasn’t planned by either of them. But he was glad it did.
He had loved her from afar, for so long. It was him that night that had first seen Rebecca. He never understood why David cheated on her; none of the girls were ever in Rebecca’s league they didn’t compare.
Jason asked him once why he cheated on the best thing that ever happened to him. David just shrugged it off saying “it was because he could.”
And here he was, with David’s Mrs. in David’s bed.
‘God this is so fucked up,’ he thought.
He had a meeting yesterday morning in Brussels; they had overslept after yet another late night of passion. Jason had left stupidly without making arrangements, expecting to see her later that night. Even after all the years he had known her, he didn’t have her mobile number. He taken it for granted that he would go around to hers when he got back. He hadn’t taken in account that she wouldn’t be at home. He did wait till late, eventually deciding to go home and try today and he was glad he did.
Jason sat up restless against the stack of pillows. Rebecca moved in the bed drawing his attention from his thoughts. She had moved and was now lying on her stomach, her hair falling aimlessly on the pillow. She looked so beautiful. He sat mesmerized by her.
He hadn’t given a thought about David since kissing her that Friday night. When they made love, it was just her and him nothing else. He had never experienced anything like this; he knew it felt right as he had made love to her all
