telling me?” she asked.
He took the seat next to her and
frowned. “No, why?”
“I was just wondering what the
meaning of all of this is?” Rachel glanced around her. He’d picked a chick
flick for them to watch.
“I just wondered what was with the
seduction. You know I want you.”
He stopped and watched as she
stumbled over her words.
“I mean, you don’t need to work so
hard. I’m a sure thing when it comes to you.”
Anger spiked inside him. “Oh, so
because you’re a sure thing I shouldn’t be treating you differently or be
seducing you? Next time I’m fucking horny I’ll just phone you up and order you
to come and satisfy the need I have.” Paul stood up. He needed to move away
from her. She’d made him so angry.
“That’s not what I meant,” she said.
“No? Then what the fuck did you mean?
If I just wanted a fuck, Rachel, I would have done Tracy back at the shop. I’m
making an effort. I’m giving you everything you deserve.” Running fingers
through his hair Paul paced his living room. He’d moved the coffee table to the
far side of the room the last time Rachel was at his home, which he hadn’t put
back yet.
Rachel got up to leave. “I’m sorry.
I didn’t mean to make you angry.   I’m new
at this.” He watched as she walked toward the doorway of his sitting room.
“Shit, Rachel, sit down.”   He was judging her in comparison to his other
women. Paul needed to remember she was still a virgin. He needed to prove to
her that she was different for him and to expect more of a seduction from him.
    “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gotten
angry with you. I don’t want you to leave.” He knelt before her, rubbing his
hands on her thighs.
“No, it’s my fault. I assumed you
were putting in more effort than what you do for other women.”
Taking her hands in his he traced
the lines in the centre of her palm. “I do put the extra effort with you. The
other women didn’t mean anything. You do mean something, and I want to give you
everything I didn’t give them.”
    “I spoilt the moment, didn’t I?
Maybe I should leave.” Her voice trembled as she spoke.
    “You’re not leaving, Rachel. I’ve
got plans for tonight that go far beyond this movie. Stay with me, and stop
worrying about what I’m doing. This is what I want to do. I want to be the type
of boyfriend that gives you everything,” he said.
    “Boyfriend? You’re my boyfriend?”
“Hell, yeah. It beats being your brother’s best
friend. I don’t want to teach you about sex, but I want to be with you. I want
you to love me the way that I love you, and being your
boyfriend will suit for now.” He hoped he was using the right words.
“You really know what to say to take
me by surprise. All I’ve ever wanted is to have you and to be yours,” she said.
Smiling, Paul took the seat next to
her. It was a breakthrough, but he knew he had a long way to go.

Chapter Nine

Rachel watched the movie Paul had
picked and didn’t understand the storyline at all. Paul kept caressing her neck
with one hand and her thigh with the other. He was surprising her at every
turn.
“You’re not watching this movie, are
you?” he asked, taking her by surprise yet again.
“I can’t think with your hands on
me.”
He chuckled, and the sound melted
her to the spot. Her stomach tightened as heat spilled between her thighs. She
was so turned on. Not only did Paul want her sexually, but he wanted her for a
lot longer than she ever anticipated. Paul held her face between his hands and
turned her to look at him. Licking her lips she gazed into his dark brown eyes
and then down to his lips. They looked so inviting. She remembered what they
felt like against her own. His lips were firm and demanding.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked.
“I’m thinking about you kissing me.”
“Is that what you want me to do?
Kiss you.”
“It would be a nice start.”
He stroked her cheek. Seconds later
his lips were on hers.
