been the most remarkable night Lillian had ever spent, she was embarrassed for the chamber maids to see the blood smears.  It was proof that she had lost her virginity, not in the marriage bed with a loving husband who had sworn to love, honor, and cherish her, but by her treacherous body that could not stay pure around Eriik, who she would love to accuse of rape, but that would be the most immense falsehood of her lifetime.  She couldn’t do that to him or herself.  She would stand up to the stares of ridicule and come what may, act the part of, well, his mistress.  That’s what she was after all.  One of her dreads, and again, she had done it to herself.  He did not force himself on her, he even asked her.  By God, she looked him right in the eye and gave him permission.  Without a marriage, lord without even an admission of love or fidelity.  Oh she tried to feel unclean and all she could feel was giddy.  She was so tired of trying to be someone she was not.  Honestly she felt wonderful after last night.  She straightened herself up, held her head high, and went on about her day.  She yearned for this man she had wantonly given herself to and if she was just a mistress for him, then damn it, what would be would be.  Isn’t that what she always said?  I’ll think no more about it today.  Last night was too incredible to ruin it with incriminations today.  She could not wipe the smile off her face.  It felt splendid.
After that first tumultuous lovemaking, each night when Eriik came to their bedchamber, the same wonderful ritual followed, and even though the first few times, Lillian tried a few feeble attempts to resist, she soon decided it was futile to try.  She was besotted by his charm, fine body, and incredible skills at lovemaking.  That thought pricked her a bit as she knew very well how he had acquired those skills, practice.
Every day that passed, she became more proficient at her household chores and the Norse language , not to mention her own boudoir skills.  They often spoke Norse at dinner and she could easily carry on conversations with the inhabitants of the house.  She tried to control herself but knew deep down that she was falling in love with Eriik.  She felt comfortable and even light-headed at times when he would hold her, stroke her hair, and especially when he made love to her.
She watched him at his battle games during the day, his great muscles flexing with exertion , as he swung his sword or axe, the tiny rivulets of sweat running down his back.  Every time an opponent swung at him, she had to cover her eyes.  She couldn’t believe they were only practicing with those dangerous weapons.  One hit and a limb could be easily severed.  But each day they went on and no one seemed to be wounded.  What a sight Eriik was as he usually practiced without a shirt in the summer and she was mesmerized by the play of each set of muscles as he used his sword, axe, and bow.  Every day she was aghast at herself at how she would feel as she stared at him.  Her hands would sweat, her breasts would tighten, her thighs would tingle, and she would fantasize about him atop her in bed as his powerful frame would press intimately into her welcoming flesh.  She would chastise herself but deep down she knew it was to no avail.  He was a sight to behold and she couldn’t get enough.  She was also proud when he beat his opponent, as usual.  “What was she to do though?  Did Eriik feel anything for her?  Well lust of course.  That she knew only too well.  Obviously she felt the same for him.
He had never mentioned marriage or whatever they do here to seal a relationship between a man and woman.  She didn’t really know a lot about it.  He seemed content and the people around him accepted her, at least she assumed they did.  It was all so confusing.”
Well there was nothing she could do about it right now so she decided to go about her business, and quit worrying about
