started hanging out with Hunter she hadn’t seen him in a few days. And it was completely her fault for brushing him off.
They chatted for a few moments about nothing in particular.
Luna smiled and slipped her phone back in her pocket. The mall was busy and she couldn't wait for her shift to be over. A couple of hours later, Luna looked up when a shadow fell across the register. A huge grin lit up her face. “Hey you.”
“Hey yourself. How much longer do you have?”
Luna looked at her watch. “Only a half hour.”
“I’ll go grab our tickets and come back and get you.”
About twenty minutes later, she saw him walking into the store. It took everything she had not to launch herself into Hunter’s arms. Her heart rate went in overdrive the closer he got. She loved the way his eyes were only on her, as if there was no one else in the crowded store. He stared at her like she was the most beautiful creature in the world. It made her toes tingle.
Luna grabbed her purse and told the other girl she was clocking out a few minutes early.
“How was your day?” he asked, sliding his arm possessively around her waist as they walked down the corridor. Had it been anyone else she would have squirmed free. Instead, she found herself wrapping her arm around him in return. It shocked her that she wanted people to know she was with him—wanted to mark him as her own. He smiled as he leaned down and kissed her briefly, as if he knew the significance of the gesture.
“Long, boring, the usual. And yours?”
“Not bad. Spent some time with my new team. Went to the range and threw some lead around, and now I’m walking with the sexiest girl in this joint. So all in all, a pretty damn good day.”

By the time they left the movie theater, Luna was ready to explode if she didn’t get naked in the next few moments. It took an enormous amount of self-control to sit beside Hunter for the last two hours and not touch him. She needed their bodies to be merged as one. Listen to her. Could she get any more pathetic? Whatever. All she knew was she needed him and soon.
“Where to now?” he asked quietly as they fastened their seat belts.
“I want to take you somewhere.”
    He raised an eyebrow.
“Drive as fast as you can without getting a ticket, because I don’t have the patience for the delay that would require.”
Hunter flashed her a darkly sensual grin as he pressed on the gas and took off out of the parking lot.
    “Take a left.”
Hunter flicked his blinker and made a left turn. Luna spouted out directions. In order to keep herself from staring at his rugged profile, she turned her head and stared out the window at the scenery. A blur of colors.
She felt herself relax when she saw the road she’d been aiming for. “At the end of this road there’s a park. You just have to veer right.”
The road was long and darkened by the towering trees that lined the street.
Hunter looked over at her, but didn’t say anything. She wondered what he was thinking.
He turned into the park and Luna pointed her finger ahead of her. “Drive around that building, there’s a side road.”
Without a word, he eased the truck forward. The road was so narrow the leaves brushed the windows. He parked under the dark shady trees. When he turned off the truck, they were completely shrouded in darkness.
As soon as he braked, she unlatched the seatbelt. With a smile, Luna kicked off her shoes and climbed into the backseat. Hunter jumped out of the truck, opened the back door, and eased himself in beside her. He pulled her into the hardness of his arms and murmured in her ear. Luna slid onto his lap, pulled up her dress, glad she’d worn a loose dress for once, and shifted her legs so she straddled him. Thankfully, she had the foresight to leave her panties at home. His hand lingered on her hip, and when he realized she wasn’t wearing anything underneath, he practically growled.
