not thinking straight at all,” he thought. “What the hell is wrong with me? I need to get my emotions in check. I won’t make it another day in this condition.”
“Sebastian, are you there?” he heard her asking.
“I’m sorry, baby, I was distracted by your vision,” he said and sighed, then softly chuckled. “What did you say?”
“I said that I want you here with me. Every day I watch Gabrielle and Eva getting closer with Ian and Troy, and I’m missing you terribly. I’m missing you every moment of every hour, and it hurts.” Her voice quivered with emotion.
“Arielle, there is nothing in this world that compares to the feelings I hold for you,” he said. “I want to be there, I want to hold you in my arms forever. I miss you so much that I can hardly breathe. I need to hear your voice. So, please talk to me about anything you like, just talk.”
“Well, I have to hit the books awfully hard starting tomorrow to get through my exams for the next two weeks. There’ll be no time for play at all,” she said. “Gabby, Eva, and I have a completely different schedules so we’ll not be studying together. I’m a little nervous about the exams, but I’ll get through them, I’m sure.”
“You are very smart, and I know you’ll do well.”
“If I were as smart as you are, I wouldn’t have to study so hard,” she said. “You’re the one who is smart and magnificent. I’m so happy that you love me!” She laughed aloud, and her beautiful laughter filled his heart with pleasure.
“I want you to text me after each exam and let me know how you did. I want you to text me before you go to bed and when you get up. I want to feel like I’m there with you.”
“I will,” she promised.
“ Miss me,” he whispered, and ended the call.
Chapter 7
A rielle felt miserable as she drove to the flat alone. She hadn’t wanted this weekend to end, and she had no regrets about what she had done. Sebastian was the most exciting man she had ever known—and he was all hers. The thought of him sent waves of ecstasy through her body. He had made love to her with such unbelievable passion. Just thinking about it sent shivers dancing down her spine and shattered her senses.
Refraining from sex was a decision she had made, and he had respected that decision until the last moment. She was the one who had initiated the encounter, and she had even had to encourage him to step over the line. She sighed happily remembering.
It was late when she arrived at the flat. Gabby and Eva were awake, but Arielle didn’t feel like sharing any details of her weekend with them just then. They were busy talking. They both looked up and smiled when she walked in.
“Hey, did you have a good time?” Gabrielle asked, with an insinuating smile on her face.
“Yes, it was great! How about you two?”
“It wasn’t long enough for me,” Eva giggled.
“I have to agree with you,” Arielle said, and laughed softly.
“What’s so funny?” Eva asked.
“Oh, I was just thinking about the same time last year. Do you all remember our conversations? About which one of us would be coming back from holidays with an earthshaking new adventure? Well, look at us now! We’re all in love with such great guys, and our lives have changed completely.”
“For the best, don’t you think?” Gabby said, a blissful smile on her face.
“Absolutely,” Arielle said. “Well, I think I’ll be off to bed. I’ll see you all tomorrow.” She smiled at them and walked to her bedroom, shutting the door behind her. She felt so lonely, and her need for Sebastian was becoming stronger by the minute. She climbed into bed, clenching her journal, eager to capture on paper the incredible experience that was still scorching her very existence. She closed her eyes. How would I get along without him? she thought. Their last encounter had changed everything about their relationship. She needed him, and she knew that his absence would be a big obstruction
