before he slid into the cruiser’s backseat. The policeman’s hand was already atop his head, but he jerked away from him and addressed Victory. “He was screwing Addison. Did you know that?”
“I knew,” she assured him. “He was the club’s president. You know how that is. You take what’s yours and everyone else’s.”
Devon glanced over at Damsel. He was puffing on a cigarette, apparently already chummy with an officer or else he wouldn’t have been given a smoke.
“Yeah, baby, I know how that is,” Devon said. His heart wasn’t in the proposition he’d soon deliver, the one Logan saw coming from a mile away, but he’d still torment Damsel the best way he probably knew how. Taking a seat in the back of the car, Devon looked up at Victory. “When I get out, what do you say you come see me?”
“I might,” Victory muttered, acting uninterested until her eyes met Damsel’s heated gaze. “On second thought, I think I’ll do just that. You watch for me. I’ll be around.”

    Chapter Eleven

“Did you plan to tell me how the Heroes and Rogues celebrate when one of their own is released from jail earlier than expected?” Sassy asked upon entering his bedroom later that evening.
“I figured Cara would explain,” he grumbled, standing in front of the mirror adjusting his belt.
“So this is something you do all the time?”
“Those with old ladies participate,” Logan replied. “You don’t have to pretend you’re mine, if your heart’s not in it.”
Her heart sank. She couldn’t help how she responded to his statement. In so many ways, she’d hoped he’d wrap his arms around her and, in that guttural voice of his, demand that she submit to him in front of an audience.
Logan was familiar and comfortable. When they’d made love, she’d felt safe and secure, happy and complete. Sure, she’d panicked when he’d gotten on top of her, but part of the reason was because she didn’t know what to expect, didn’t like being with him alone when he became the aggressor. After talking to Cara about the upcoming party, she’d thought of a way to overcome her fears.
“Sassy, I didn’t mean that the way it sounded.”
“I know I’m not your old lady.”
“I don’t have one then.” He marched across the room.
“Now I feel like I’ve said the wrong thing.”
He paused, picked up his jacket from a nearby chair and slung it over his arm. When he faced her, his expression was priceless. He looked like could eat her up. She shivered as if a cool breeze licked at her nape. Her nipples spiked under the scrutiny.
Logan Marcs was a handsome rebel, one hell of a man. He was everything she’d ever dreamed of and so much more. That was the problem. She knew things about Logan that he’d yet to admit.
Logan was a cop. A truth she was quite certain the MC wasn’t aware of because if they were, he wouldn’t be standing there.
“So do you keep handcuffs on hand or are they back at your dad’s place?”
    “What are you talking about?”
“You might need them tonight. From what I understand, the homecoming includes cuffing your woman to a chair and having your way with her.”
His lips twitched. “And what do you think about that?”
“I think if I’m going to act like I belong here, maybe I should play the part.”
“You’ll have your body exposed to everyone,” he said, looping his arm around her waist. “This place is transformed into a sex fest in about a minute flat.”
“Then I guess we’d better join the others before the party starts without us.”
    * * * *
“You’re sure about this?” Logan asked, gripping her hand as they entered the bar area.
    “Are you?”
As if it were the most natural occurrence in the world, he pressed her against the wall, flattening his palm on the right side of her head. “I’ll fuck you right here if you want everyone to know how whipped I am.”
“Whipped,” she purred, rolling her tongue. “There’s
