sleep. Another drink filled night had left us paralyzed in bed. We ordered room service and took turns showering. I found Spencer staring at me as I ate my breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Jack, Ellie and Amy were at the table chatting away while Rory showered. I looked up and saw Spencer with pure determination and an agenda on his face.
“What?”
He leaned into me, grabbed my finished plate and brought me to lay on his chest, his back to the headboard.
“You know exactly what I am thinking about,” he said as his lips slid over my hairline.
“Our game?”
“No,” he answered softly. “The way it felt when you came, Nadine.” I could feel the longing in his voice. I felt it too.
“If we were alone, I could give you what you need, Spencer.”
“Where’s the challenge in that?” he whispered, his breathing burdened as he turned my head to face him and took my lips in a slow kiss, tracing my mouth with his tongue. “I can’t take much more,” he said as he bit the lobe of my ear.
“We’re becoming quit the exhibitionists.” I smiled wickedly, slipping my hand under the covers to stroke his length. “I can finish you off right here.” I tightened my grip on his impressive erection and felt him on the edge, his body tense. He didn’t give me a chance to ruin him. He quickly removed my hand and brought me down on the bed, fully kissing me for everyone to see.
“You two are getting your own room in New Orleans,” Jack said with a slight amount of disdain.
Spencer ignored him, finishing his kiss and looking into my eyes. “Good idea,” he grinned, leaning over me with a smile. It was only then that I realized that Jack had mentioned New Orleans.
“New Orleans?” I croaked, my voice hoarse from Spencer’s over attentive stare.
“Yes, we’re leaving today and we want you to come.”
“I’m in!” Rory shouted from behind us, freshly showered.
“Why New Orleans?” I asked anxiously.
“Why not?” Spencer mused, leaning in to pull my shirt down over my bare stomach. He winked at me and I quickly lost my train of thought. He sat us up and held my back to his chest.
“So will you come?” he asked seductively in my ear while rubbing my bare thighs with a give and take motion of his hands.
“Like we all ride there, leave my car here? Kind of stupid considering we go home that way,” I said turning to look at Rory.
“This is a road trip within a road trip. It doesn’t have to make sense,” Amy taunted. “Have you ever been to New Orleans, Nadine?”
“No, this is my first trip outside Oklahoma City.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Ellie said, giving me a sympathetic look.
“I agree, that’s total bullshit,” Jack said, grabbing the dishes from everyone, stacking them on the hotel tray.
I kept my eyes on Rory’s hopeful face. “You’re the boss on this trip, Nadine.” I smiled at the leeway she was giving me and turned to Spencer who looked at me hopeful.
I looked around the room at the set of faces and quickly realized I was nowhere near ready to part with my make shift vacation family. As insane as it was, I was already smitten with them all.
“Let’s go.”
Spencer and I sat in the last two seats of Amy’s SUV. Rory seemed happy to give me up. In fact, it seemed she had done everything in her power to push us together. Spencer impressed us all by naming every song that came on the radio and by the time we were an hour into our trip, he hadn’t failed to name a single one. It was amazing. Rock, rap, R&B, it didn’t matter.
“God, that’s awesome,” Ellie said, turning back to grin at Spencer.
“Yes, yes, I am awesome,” he chuckled, turning his baseball hat around so that the bill was in the back. Oh, oh dear God. I was instantly turned on and had no idea why that had done it. I once again began to study his profile as he named the next song and all I could think was he is … beautiful. This man was beautiful. His thick lashes, strong nose, masculine
