    “I have no other idea on how to get
her back to Alpha except to ask my father for help.”
    “He’ll give it.”
    “You sound sure about that.”
    “I am. Julyah always said how your parents missed you.”
    “I’m sure you two are having a
terrific conversation,” Jordan murmured sleepily. “I don’t know since you’re speaking gibberish, but if you
two don’t shut up and let me sleep some more, I will personally use those
gauntlet things and gut you.”
    “Are you always this irritated when
you first wake up?” Laith asked, switching to German.
    She turned onto her back and
stretched. “You two must bring out the warm fuzzies in me.”
    David snorted. “Life with you will
certainly be interesting.”
    She tensed and looked like she had
something she wanted to say. “You never told me how you knew my language.”
    He got the impression that wasn’t
what she wanted to say.
    “My last name is Ballack . Haven’t you guessed?”
    “You’re German?”
    “Yep. Born in Dusseldorf .”
      “I knew standard English, of course, but when David became my blood-kin he taught me German. That
is why he chose your camp to find a female to take.”
    “You told her about us?” David
asked incredulously.
    “I told her everything, David. Including Julyah . Obviously, the
plan is off, so we must think of something new.”
    “Kath probably reviewed that
station brawl,” David said. “It’s prudent to believe that our identities have
been discovered. If we show up at the market more than likely
his men will see us.”
    Laith grunted his agreement.
    “So Kath took Rell because she’s valuable,” Jordan said. “Why not lure him into a trap?”
    “How?”
    “Parade us through the market. When he comes to confront you, attack.”
    “ Hm ,” he
muttered. “That sounds possible.”
    “Possible? You just don’t want to
admit my plan is a better scenario than yours was,” she teased. “Score for me.”
    Laith tickled her, and she squealed, laughing when he didn’t let up. David wasn’t
sure what had happened in the few hours he’d been knocked out, but he liked the
change. Laith seemed less uptight, and Jordan
laughing? Two miracles.
    And then the light play began to
shift. Tickles turned to caresses and laughter to moans. David’s cock hardened,

    That confused him, but he didn’t
dwell on it for too long because she leaned up and kissed him, and he opened
his mouth to deepen it, sliding his tongue against hers with a moan. When the
kiss broke, she stared at him with fever-bright eyes, and a devilish smile
played on her lips.
    “I want to try something,” she
said.
    Her words sounded naughty, and his
