way Macy was here now. She’d be long gone. But he could probably find out who bought her if he asked the right person. Winthrop might have the answers since it was apparent this wasn’t his first time here. Maybe he was one of the guests when Macy went up for sale.
Foster was deep in thought when a bell sounded. The holoscreen appeared and a holographic image of a woman dressed all in black, a codpiece and spiked boots, appeared before him. “Welcome to tonight’s events. I am Zee for our first time guests. We have a large assortment of offerings tonight. Bidding will start at one hundred-fifty thousand credits.” Then Zee’s image disappeared to be replaced by a petite woman in a see through dress. Long red hair cascaded around her shoulders, and she was heavily made up. She was quite attractive. The woman seemed slightly dazed which meant she was possibly drugged. Foster wouldn’t purchase any of these women but he had to put in a few token bids.
By the fourth woman, he was bored out of his mind, not really focusing on the women, but trying to figure out his next move. He barely paid attention when number five was called, but he happed to glance at the woman’s holographic image before him and froze.
It couldn’t be. He reached out but his hand went through the hologram . She was fixed up, but he would recognize that body anywhere, after all he’d spent many hours tasting every inch of it. He remembered the nights when he held her in his arms and how he’d fucked things up in the end out of some misguided sense of nobility. But here she was at the mercy of anyone with enough credits to have her. Judging from the glazed look in her hazel eyes, she wasn’t completely there. Drugs. Despite the superficial changes, she was just as beautiful as he remembered. “Victoria.”

    Chapter Seven
Some of the drug Zee had administered had worn off but Tori’s muscles refused to obey her command. She’d been led to a pedestal that rotated slowly enough not to give her vertigo. Shia had explained to her, once Tori was put on the block, that she wouldn’t be able to see who actually placed bids on her. This was something Tori was grateful for because this entire process was sickening. She wasn’t sure how long she remained in the spot she’d been planted but it seemed like an eternity.
Finally, one of the guards stepped forward and lifted her off the stand. He led her toward Zee who for the first time since Tori had met her was actually smiling, or at least her version of a smile. Zee’s face was so stiff, probably from injections, that Tori was surprised the woman could actually form any kind of facial expression. “You’ve set a record for us tonight, Rose. Ten million credits. You make me think we should be exclusively selling exotics. Your kind always goes for top dollar. Like I’ve already said, t hese buyers always pay top dollar for things out of the ordinary.” It seemed Zee’s musing was more for herself than for Tori’s benefit.
“Bronte, you can take her out with the other girls in the waiting area until everyone has gone on the block,” Zee instructed.
Bronte practically dragged Tori’s uncooperative body to another room where she saw a group of women sitting around. Some looked frightened while others seemed unaffected. The guard placed her against the wall before leaving.
One small woman, who looked to be mixed like Tori but was of Asian descent approached. “How much did you go for?”
Was this woman kidding? They’d just been auctioned off like slaves and the price for which she was sold was a point of interest? Tori opened her mouth to tell her exactly that but the drugs made it difficult for her mouth to move.
“I see that they must have given you the neutralizing serum. They gave some to Pansy over there.” She jerked her thumb in the direction of a redhead who looked slightly
