tonight after multiple reports of her fainting in a restaurant. Sources within the hospital confirm that she has been admitted to the Maternity ward for complications with her pregnancy. In addition, Right Time front-man Dillon Blake has been listed on the hospital forms as the father.
There was more, but I couldn’t continue. Pregnant? We’d used condoms every time. Well except for that time in New Orleans. And when her brothers came in on us and… Yeah, well… Wow.
I went to Sarah’s room and told her what had happened. She was on her phone within seconds, finding out what she could. While she did that I called the tour manager and the band. Once they reached my room where I was packing, I told them what was happening.
“For fuck’s sake, Dillon! How could you let this happen?” Phillip had freaked and paced around my room. “We keep the condom supply stocked everywhere we go!”
“I know. We did use them, just not every time.” I packed my shit in my bags, stuffing everything as quickly as I could.
“Obviously,” Phillip said. “The publicists are trying to do some damage control. When you don’t go flying right out to Australia the buzz will die down.”
I whirled around. “I beg your pardon? I’m going.”
“You have a show tonight. If you cancel you’ll be proving these allegations and until you talk to Ashlyn herself, that’s all they are. Are you sure the kid’s ev—”
“I swear to God, Phillip, I will kick your arse if you finish that sentence. I’m going to Australia. I’m not going to perform when the woman I love and my child are in danger!”
Stunned silence met my declaration. I’d told Ashlyn I loved her, but besides my bodyguards, no one else had heard me say it. I loved Ashlyn, and she was more important to me than all the fame. I resumed packing while Zeck, Alec, and Law, rallied around me and said they could cover for me, that they’d figure out who could sing my parts while I was away.
I don’t remember much after that. Sarah couldn’t get much more information than I could, just that Ashlyn was in the hospital and they were keeping her. We couldn’t get a commercial flight for a while, so I paid for a private plane.
I was at least thankful we weren’t at home. Then I’d have been a twenty-three hour flight away. I was still a six hour flight away and those hours felt like triple that when I was worried about Ashlyn. By the time we landed I’d decided that Ashlyn was coming with me when I left Australia again. I was never leaving her behind again.
Only Rick could come with me. I wasn’t worried though, I would be safe in the hospital, and I knew Ashlyn’s brothers would be around if I had any trouble. Rick drove the SUV that was hired and we picked up at the airport.
So almost ten hours after the phone call we approached the hospital entrance, which was surrounded by police and media. Rick suggested we call security and find an alternate way in, but right now I didn’t care about fans or my image. All I cared about was getting to Ashlyn.
Inside I went straight to the information desk. “’ello. I’m looking for Ashlyn Dobbs. I was given this room number.” I showed her the paper with the room number. I watched the exact moment the woman behind the desk recognized me. She let out a little squeal before composing herself and giving me the directions. At this point Rick and Sarah had caught up with me, and we made our way there. I saw her brothers first and then her parents, but I didn’t stop to listen to them. I opened the door and walked right into the room. The room held two beds. I saw a woman asleep in one bed and the curtain drawn on the other side. Moving the curtains I pulled them back and froze at the sight before me.
Ashlyn lay in the hospital bed, a drip in one arm and looking not just tired, but exhausted. Her eyes held big black bags under them, and her skin looked so white it seemed almost translucent.
    “What the hell happened,
