running to the shower, I slid the glass door over and found him lying on the floor in a fetal position, holding his leg. Turning off the shower, I grabbed a towel and stepped inside, wrapping it around his lower body.
    “It hurts so bad.”
Grabbing another towel from the cabinet, I dried him off the best I could.
“You need to get up, Logan.” I firmly grasped his arm. “I’m going to lift you, but you need to help me.”
“I need a fucking pain pill, Brooke.”
“And I’m going to give you something, but you need to get up off this floor. Okay?”
He slowly nodded his head as I helped him off the floor while he held his towel against him, and onto the marble seat that sat in the corner of the shower. With his jaw tightly clenched, he leaned his head all the way back.
“I thought I told you to sit and shower. How the hell did you fall?”
    “It doesn’t matter,” he growled.
“Stay here and I’ll be right back. Don’t move.”
“I’m not going anywhere. Trust me.”
I ran to my room and opened up the suitcase that contained the medicines I brought with me from California. Shaking the pills into my hand and grabbing the amber-colored glass bottle, I went to the kitchen and took a bottle of water from the refrigerator.
“Here, take these.” I handed him four pills.
“Are these Tylenol?” he asked as he looked up at me.
“No.” I smiled. “They’re a Chinese herbal medicine to help with the pain.”
“These aren’t going to help me!” he shouted.
As I reached down and grabbed both of his wrists, our eyes locked.
“Do you trust me?” I slowly asked in a calm tone.
He hesitated for a moment before answering, “I don’t know if I do.”
Letting go, I took a step back and placed my hands on my hips.
“Well, you better get your head out of your ass and start or else this isn’t going to work.”
His face, frozen as the pain swept over his eyes, focused on me. He didn’t say a word as he popped the pills in his mouth and chased them down with water.
“Thank you. Now sit here for a few minutes while I go find you something to put on.”
Walking into his room, I opened up his closet and found a black robe hanging on the hanger. This would have to do for now. Walking back to the bathroom, I looked at Logan.
    “How’s the pain?”
    “Tolerable.”
“Good. I brought your robe.” I smirked as I held it up while he slipped his arms into the sleeves.
    “Why are you smirking?”
    I shrugged. “No reason.”
The truth was that there was something about a man in a robe that bugged the shit out of me. Two-piece pajamas were fine as far as I was concerned, but a robe was a definite no-no.
“Could you please turn around while I remove my towel and tie my robe?”
“Really? You’re worried about that? I am a doctor, after all. I’ve seen many dicks in my lifetime.”
“I’m sure you have, but you’re a beautiful woman, and I think it’s best that I leave my manhood to your imagination.” He winked.
I couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh.
Once his robe was secured, I held on to him and helped him out of his oversized shower. Handing him his crutches, I told him to go take a seat on the couch.
“I can’t go to my bed?” he asked.
“No. You’ve spent too much time there the past couple of months. The only time you’re allowed to get into bed is to sleep.”
He took a seat on the couch and gave me a funny look.
    “What?” I asked.
“I need some underwear if I’m going to be sitting here.” He sat with his legs crossed.
“Then go get a pair. Take your crutches and hobble to your room and put them on. The days of people doing everything for you are over, Mr. Jackson. I’m going to go in the kitchen and pour us some wine. As soon as I get back, I’ll start working on your leg.”
With a cocked head and a narrowing eye, he spoke, “Are you always so bossy?”
“Most of the time.” I smirked as I turned and headed to the kitchen.
