Cutter 3
minute.”
Blaze glanced at the clock on the bar
wall. “Okay, but time is ticking.”
I left him there and took the steps upstairs
toward my room three at a time. I had to get this shit to Grace and then get
back down to Blaze so we could get on the road.
I didn’t care what my father or anyone
else had to say.
I knew the committee had voted against
me going but I didn’t care.
    Grace was my property, my
responsibility.
Even if it was risky, I had to take
care of her.
And that’s why I was going with my
crew to get Stone.
It was going to be a long night.
    ***
    GRACE

I glanced down at the brown bag Cutter
had just thrown onto the bed. “What’s that?” I looked his body up and down and
tried to not gasp. I couldn’t believe that I had had sex for the first time
less than 24 hours ago and that it had been with someone who looked as good as
Cutter. I felt like the luckiest girl in the whole world.
“Open it and see.” Cutter had his head
inside of his safe, loading and unloading guns and then stuffing them into his
pockets. “Where did I put my knife?” he mumbled to himself.
I picked up the bag and tried to
ignore the worry that was starting to fill my body about where he was going and
what he was doing tonight. I assumed it had something to do with Stone but I
was trying to not ask too many questions and trust his choices like he asked me
to. I pulled out a pouch of pills and looked at him. “Birth control pills?”
He slammed the safe shut and turned
around. “Yeah, I called your doctor and had her write you a prescription then
one of the brothers ran out to pick them up this morning.”
“How did you know who my doctor was?”
I yelped. It was bad enough I had to watch my mom faint yesterday then calm her
down when she woke up, assuring her this was all one big misunderstanding and I
wasn’t involved with the cops, but now Cutter had contacted my doctor, going
even deeper into my personal life.
Cutter shrugged. “Who cares how I
knew? The point is that they’re safe and you can start taking them right now, I
don’t want to have to worry about it every time I want to cum inside of you.
Besides, I can’t have you having a heart attack every time I decide to do it.”
He laughed.
I turned the pills over again and
again in my hands.
Tell him, a voice told me, tell him
now.
“Okay.” Cutter moved closer to me. “I
have to go. I put a guard outside and left you some money in case you need
anything, I’ll be back by tomorrow morning, hopefully.” He leaned down and
kissed me on the head. “Have a good night, Grace.”
    “Please be careful,” I whispered.
    “I always am.”
And then he was gone, closing the door
softly behind him.
I jumped up from the bed in a panic.
What the hell was I going to do now? If I started taking the pills I definitely
couldn’t get pregnant, if Casper ever found out he would have me killed
instantly.
But if I didn’t take them, I could get
pregnant.
And I’d be lying to Cutter.
I was so stressed out; I hated feeling
this way, so out of control.
Before I had a chance to change my
mind I ran into the bathroom that was attached to Cutter’s room and popped open
the pill packet. I took a deep breath and then dumped the entire pack into the
toilet, flushing it all down the drain.
    And then I turned around…
And came face to face with Heather.
