Banger's Ride: Insurgents Motorcycle Club (Insurgents MC Romance Book 5)
onto his. “Thanks for the drink. Are you here alone?” The minute she asked the question, she regretted it. She didn’t want him to think she cared as much as she did.
His low chuckle washed over her. “Yeah, I’m here alone. Here with your best friend?”
She bobbed her head up and down. He pulled her closer against him, tightening his arms around her waist, and she loved the feel of him, and his crisp, fresh scent. But people kept bumping into them, since they were standing at the entrance to the hallway leading to the bathrooms.
“I think we’re in the way.” She laughed. “You want to join us?”
    “Lead the way.”
When they arrived at the table, Belle saw Holly’s surprised look, and she also noticed how her friend raked her eyes over Banger. Belle’s muscles tightened, and she possessively placed her hands around his bicep. Smiling, he turned his head and kissed her cheek. He pulled her chair out, and Belle sat down then gestured the waiter for another round of drinks.
“Who is this deliciously handsome man?” Holly said as she touched Banger’s forearm.
“The name’s Banger.” His lips curled in a half-smile.
The waiter placed the drinks in front of the trio. Holly lifted her beer to her lips, opening them wide and closing them tightly around the bottle, moving it up and down. She took a gulp, then smiled at Banger and said, “You must be good at banging, right? Is that how you got your name?”
Belle couldn’t believe how her friend was blatantly flirting with Banger. She wasn’t normally the jealous type, but she was ready to grab her friend by the hair and give her a good shake. She knew Holly was a flirt, so why was it bothering her so much this time? Part of it was that Holly was always giving her shit about what an asshole Harold had been for cheating on her, but it also was because Holly knew Banger was with Belle, and she didn’t seem to care about that. Belle couldn’t believe it.
Shaking his head, Banger pulled his arm away from Holly’s touch and placed his hand over Belle’s, giving her his full attention. Belle smiled at him, and from the corner of her eyes, she noticed Holly looked somewhat pissed. When Banger placed his hand on Belle’s neck and drew her closer to him, Holly coughed loudly as if to distract him. Not missing a beat, he crushed his lips on Belle’s, and a single shiver went from her head to her pulsing sex.
“Excuse me, I’m choking here,” Holly said in an irritated voice.
Belle pulled back and looked at Holly. “What’s wrong?”
“Just that I couldn’t get my breath. It would’ve been nice if you would’ve at least pretended like you care.”
Belle opened her mouth to answer, but Banger said, “You look fine to me. If you were choking for real, you’d be blue in the face and down on the floor ‘bout now.” He turned his attention back to Belle.
Holly’s eyes narrowed as she covered her mouth with her hand, and Belle bit her inner cheek to keep from laughing. Her friend’s childish attempt for attention pissed her off. She had no idea why Holly was acting like this. Maybe she and Darren weren’t getting along as well as she pretended they were, or maybe she was mad because Belle wasn’t interested in her brother. The reason didn’t really matter; Holly knew Banger was interested in Belle, and she was trying to thwart it. The fact that Banger did not flirt back with her friend, simply kept his focus on her, raised him up several notches in Belle’s eyes.
The restaurant began to close, and Belle wished the night would go on forever. She had such a great time, and bumping into Banger unexpectedly made her evening extra special. She hated to admit it, but she liked him a lot. She wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol, but she wanted to get to know him a whole lot better.
Outside, the frosty air pinched their faces, and the wind murmured as the snow fell like confetti to the ground. Under the bright street lights, snowflakes
