the
room along with the scent that of sex and musk and sweat. Mal fisted his cock,
ready to spread his seed all over the bed. He didn’t have time to warn Cade. He
gave a yell when his orgasm hit, his ass tightening around Cade’s cock.
    “Fuck,
yeah. Love the way you squeeze me tight,” Cade panted, as he followed Mal with
his own orgasm, filling the condom with his load. Cade didn’t slide out of Mal
immediately. He leaned over his body, stretching out against his back, skin to
skin. With jagged breaths, he wrapped an arm around Mal’s chest. When Cade
pressed soft kisses to his back, Mal collapsed on the bed. This couldn’t
happen. He couldn’t let Cade caress him in any way.
    “Sorry,
I forget how heavy I am,” Cade apologized, rolling to the side. Mal had yet to
look at the other man, afraid of what he’d see. When Cade’s hand slid softly
between his shoulder blades, Mal scrambled off the bed. “Hey, did I hurt you?
Are you okay?” Cade asked.
    “No,
I’m good. That was… Thank you. I needed that,” Mal said softly as he retreated
to the bathroom. He turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on his face.
It was so much more than what he needed. When he stood up straight to grab a
hand towel, Cade stood there in the bathroom with the used condom in his hand.
He put one hand on Mal’s bare hip and leaned around him to toss the latex in
the garbage can. Cade’s hand burned where it touched Mal’s skin. Instead of
Cade giving him space, he stepped directly behind Mal and wrapped his arms
around his waist. Cade kept his eyes on Mal’s in the mirror as he licked Mal’s
shoulder.
    “You
are beautiful,” Cade whispered against the shell of Mal’s ear. “You are the
most stunning man I’ve ever had the pleasure of being with.” He closed his eyes
and sucked on Mal’s neck. Not hard enough to leave a mark, but hard enough for
Mal’s cock to start coming back to life. He wasn’t the only one affected. Cade
pressed his dick that was already starting to lengthen against Mal’s ass.
    Mal
couldn’t do this. He couldn’t allow Cade to treat him as if he mattered. As if
what they had done, and what they were doing, was something that would last
beyond their time in this hotel room.
    “Cade.”
Instead of his name coming out strong enough to get his attention, it sounded
more like a plea. Like a prayer to the god lavishing him with kisses along his
neck and shoulder. Touching him tenderly on his chest. Cade ghosting his
fingers along the ugly puckered skin had Mal’s knees threatening to give out. Cade
tightened one arm around his waist, holding him in place. Cade’s light blue
eyes found Mal’s darker blue ones in the mirror.
    “I’ve
got you,” Cade vowed.
    Oh,
God. Mal couldn’t listen to false promises. He might be holding him up, but
Cade couldn’t have Mal. His life was going down the shitter faster than he
could fathom. He had nothing to offer Cade. Nothing to offer anyone. Had they
met in another place and time, Mal would pursue the tempting man standing
behind him, blue eyes questioning. But they were in this place, in this
time, and it was just no good.
     Mal
shook his head. “I’ve gotta go.” He twisted to get away from Cade’s embrace,
but the larger man held on tighter.
    “Why?
You said you’d give me one night. I meant all night, Mal. I know this can’t go
further than what happens in this room, but please, stay with me. Whatever
happens between us tonight, please at least give me that to take with me when I
leave. I’m not asking for promises of a future. I’m not asking for tender words
of affection. All I’m asking is you give me something I haven’t had in a very
long time, and that’s the comfort of feeling arms around me as I sleep.”
    The
sadness in Cade’s voice grabbed hold of Mal’s heart and twisted. In giving Cade
what he needed, it would shred what little sanity Mal had left.
    “Please.”
    That
one word was Mal’s undoing. If he was going to give
