watched as she took the empty seat beside Anthony.
“I attempted pancakes. I’m not very good. Angel is clearly the talented one.”
    “Clearly.”
    “So what’s going on?”
“I need to go and see Murphy today. Can you watch the kids while I do?” Tate asked. “Jessica has offered to help as well. She can’t do a lot seeing as her arm is bandaged.”
“I’m here as well,” Martha said, holding her hand up. “I can help.”
“Good. We’re going to need all the help we can get.” Tate left the table, and Stink watched as someone rushed toward the trash to put in the bacon. Shaking his head, he couldn’t help but chuckle. Everyone went still as Tate came back in. “We’re also putting together a care package for Pussy. He hasn’t left Sasha’s side, and we’re going to try and offer our support.”
    “Okay.”
Stink took a seat at the table and rubbed at his temples. “At lunch I’m going to the hospital.”
“That’s fine. Tomorrow we need to drop the kids off in school.”
“What about the Chaos kids?” he asked.
“Simon is in school, but he’s at the hospital. Elizabeth is in her first year, and has work to complete at home. Lexie took care of it,” Tate said.
It was the first time he’d seen Tate completely in control, and not being a bitch. He didn’t know if he liked or recognized this person. They needed to keep her stressed more often.
“I’m here to help as well,” Prue said, speaking up. “Zero can’t do much as he’s been shot in the butt.”
    The kids started laughing.
Stink cleared his throat and glared at them. “That’s Uncle Zero you’re laughing at. It’s not nice to laugh at other people, and I don’t want to hear any more rudeness, understood?”
The kids went back to eating, and Stink took a drink of coffee. He thought he heard a kid mumble, “but it’s funny.” He couldn’t be sure though.
“How is everything?” Dick asked. He was sitting opposite his woman, Martha.
“I’m fine. I’ll be happier when I can get this shit handled.”
“Andrew has really fucked with us this time, hasn’t he?” Dick asked. It was more of a rhetorical question.
“How is Spider handling everything?” Martha asked.
“He’s still at the hospital keeping a vigil. It’s breaking him apart. I’ve never seen the brother look so lost,” Dick said.
“We’ll find her. We don’t have a choice.” They’d either find her alive or dead. Stink hoped for the former rather than the latter.

Angel had been around the whole of the hospital, and now she was at Sasha’s door. Lash hadn’t left her side. She’d spent a great deal of time with Simon and Tabitha. Tiny, Eva, Lexie, and Devil all looked so damn happy that she hadn’t wanted to leave. Sunshine and Alex were happy as well. There was happiness, and then there was sadness. Sally was still in surgery, and Sasha still hadn’t woken up.
The door to Sasha’s room was open, and she saw Pussy sitting on the chair beside the bed. He held onto Sasha’s hand, and he was talking.
“Do you remember that time I took you on the picnic, and we were near the field outside of the library? You asked me to describe how beautiful everything was. It was summer so all the flowers were in bloom. The grass seemed greener than any other time I’d seen it. I’d never known such beauty. The truth was, I only cared about looking at you. I didn’t know if there were daisies or daffodils. There could have been two people fucking right next to us, and I wouldn’t care. You’re my world, Sasha.” He paused, and tears filled Angel’s eyes. “I can’t live without you. There was a time I promised myself I’d never fall in love, but you destroyed that, Sasha. I love you, and I need you. This being asleep is nonsense. Please, wake up, I’m begging you.” Once again he stopped. “Who else is going to listen to me in the shower, or tell me if I’m burning something? I love you, Sasha, and you promised me forever.
