“on” or “above” word. For example the words below represent the phrase “Hands-on experience”.
3. Direction of letters: Observe the direction of the given words. Is the word going up? Down? Backwards? If yes, this is one more clue for you. For example, the word “TOWN” below indicate a downwards direction, so we can guess that the phrase is “DOWN TOWN”:
T
O
W
N
4. Repeated words: Is a word repeated several times? Count the words and use this number as a clue. For example “LATE LATE” is a representation of the phrase “too late”.
5. Arrows: If there is an arrow pointing out something, then focusing on that spot will help you decipher the picture.
6. Style and size of letters: Is a word too big? Too small? Are the letters too fat or too thin? Use this a clue!
7. Focus on the sound: Sometimes the picture uses a word that sounds similar to the hidden word. For example, if you see the word “cats” have in mind other words with a similar sound, such as “catch”. Sometimes it helps if you describe out loud what you see. For example: “L EEEEEE” sounds like el+E’s -> Elise so you may have found a name as a clue!
You will practice these tips and learn even more strategies in the warm up section (first 20 puzzles).
That’s all!
