down.
“That’s Spring, and this is her sister, Burgundy.” He took a few glances between both of us, probably trying to see the difference.
“Why the fuck does it matter who she is? If she’s sitting here with your sister, that must mean she’s a stripper.” The chick who was mad said.
“Nah, I can tell she ain’t no stripper, and if she was, the only place she would strip would be in front of me.” This nigga had me blushing like crazy.
“Boo, are you serious right now. I mean, we just fucked this morning.”
“Yup, and that was the last time you’ll ever taste this dick. You know I don’t play that shit you’re doing right now. We’re not exclusive, so stop trying to claim something that doesn’t belong to you.” He told her but staring at me.
“Damn, Sharon, I guess that means he’s done with you and on to the next. I told you to play your position and stop sweating that nigga. If he wanted you, he would’ve been with you. Now, you mad at this chick who has nothing to do with anything, because she’s about to take that dick right from under you.” One of the other girls said as they high-fived each other.
“Is that right?”
“What’s that, baby girl?”
“Am I about to slide you from under her?”
“You tell me.”
“I guess we’ll have to wait and see.” I said, gaining my confidence back. This man had me nervous as hell. The longer he stayed around, the more shit I talked. We exchanged numbers before B and I left and we promised to keep in touch with one another. On the drive home, B had me stop by Walgreens because she was having acid reflux and needed some Tums. I went in to get it, because I needed a box of tampons and some Advil.
“Yea, I’m about to get his ass for all he got.” I heard some chick say in the next aisle over.
“Bitch, how are you going to do that? You’re not even pregnant, plus you told me he won’t fuck you without a condom, and the one time he did was a few months ago. If you told him you were, how are you going to explain three months missing from your stomach?”
“That’s why you’re going to pee on the test and give me your ultrasound picture.” I couldn’t believe whoever this woman was trying to set some dude up. I felt bad for the dude; he was about to be played and didn’t even know it. I picked up the Tums in front of the register and put the rest of my things to ring out. I turned around and saw the chicks that came out of the aisle. It was the girl Tamika and some other chick that was definitely pregnant. She looked at me and smirked, and I probably wouldn’t have been mad if I didn’t hear her scheming.
“Oh, I can’t wait to get home and share the good news with Chase. He’s wanted a baby for so long, and I’m so happy I could give it to him.” I laughed shaking my head.
“You know, Tamika. Chase is a good man, and I fucked up when I lost him, but I’m not hater, and if you two are expecting and happy, I wish you nothing but the best. Now, if you’ll excuse me.” I turned to leave, and Chase was standing there smiling. I walked right past him without saying a word. That man still had my heart, and seeing him, brought all my feelings to the forefront.
“Spring? Spring?” I heard him saying my name behind me.
“Girl, Chase is calling you.” B said, as I opened the back door to put my stuff inside.
“Spring, why are you acting like you don’t know a nigga.”
“I’m sorry, Chase. I was just surprised to see you, that’s all. How are you?”
“I’m good, but I miss you.” I was shocked he said that, but happy as hell on the inside.
“Really? That’s shocking being as you hooked up with ole girl the very next day.”
“I know, Spring. I was mad, and it was supposed to just be a fuck thing with her, but I made her my girl. She and I go way back.”
“That’s good.” We both stood there in silence staring at one another. Somebody cleared their throat, and when we looked up, it was Tamika, but she
