spits it out.

“We aren’t friends now just because you think you saved my life. We will forever be mortal enemies. I won’t help you.” Piper grins and gets up going to the sink where she starts washing dishes.

Ginger stands there totally stumped as Piper Sharp-Granes washes dishes. Without waiting another moment, Ginger turns and leaves to see Penny massaging Jurnee’s shoulders on the floor. Both women turn to her and before she could retreat to give them privacy, they signaled her to sit.

She seats crossed legged and waits for the tension she felt from talking to Piper to disappear.
Jurnee says, “She is some piece of work. Why are we protecting her again?”
“She may have some answers so we need to see how this plays out,” Ginger tells them.
Penny nods and states, “I agree, plus with Shane here any moment, we’ll be fine and not have to worry she’ll kill us.”

“Talking about little old me,” Piper announces.
The three look up to see Piper leaning against the wall, drying her hands on a dish towel and tosses it on the floor causally.

Jurnee growls and yells, “Have some manners.”
“Please, in this dump,” Piper answers.

Before Jurnee could move, the doorbell rings. Penny smiles and gets up to answer it. “I’ll get that.”
“Lazy blood sucker can’t get it?” Piper laughs and sits on the white couch regardless of dust on her clothes.

Penny walks in with Shane. Shane Joshua Tombs, handsome green-eyed comes into the room behind Penny. Piper looks up at him, trying to figure out his roll in being out-numbered by so many powerful figures.

Shane states, “So you must be the woman I heard so much about.”
Piper laughs and replies, “All lies if from the brute blood-sucker.”
Shane clarifies, “Either way you’re lovely, nice to meet you Piper. Now I am here to keep you company why these ladies head on their way. I have the baby monitored, so have fun.”

Jurnee looks at Penny, who can’t believe she’ll leave the boys alone for more then a nap. It was Ginger telling her telepathically just go with it that allowed the plan to work.

Penny smiles and answers, “Great, call us if you need anything.”

Jurnee and Penny leave after grabbing their coats. Ginger looks at an amused Piper and decides some fresh air will help her clear her mind. Maybe she can find Jensen without Piper’s aid.

                                                                          Chapter 3:

After leaving the mansion, Ginger didn’t know where to go next. It wasn’t like she could talk to Lucas. Her boyfriend was at work. The apartment probably had Mark and Adorsa going at it. That was the last thing she wanted to see or hear. Stacey was still recovering, so couldn’t go to the Darkholme mansion.

A nice walk along the shore would do her some good. She ducked behind the trees in the backyard. Turning into smoke while she lifted up into the air, before flying across town towards Redondo Beach.

She transformed back into her solid form. The smell of the ocean and damp air made her lungs contract. Closing her eyes and allowing the day to sink away.

It was like mom use to say, let in the pain in small doses to control the pain, but never allow it to overwhelm you.

Everything was chaotic but nothing was out of her power to change the outcome. It was late, but not quiet seven o’clock so still some sun out. The walk through the border-walk before she ended up next to a hair salon.

Looking down to see her clothes were still dusty but she wanted a change, something tiny but within her control. Pushing her way past the draft that started five minutes ago, she rubs her arms to keep warm. Ginger goes inside to cut it all off.

    I can do this.

New me, new outlook on my problems, she thought.
