circle around Andi. He marched up to her and said nothing. There was a question in her eyes. He couldn’t answer that shit right now. All he wanted was to be near her. To hold her.
“So, who’s the wolf?” the big guy from before asked.
“I,” Kasen started before Andi got a chance to reply, “am her mate.”

    SIXTEEN

Andi was going to officially murder the wolf. Her lioness snorted. My mate? Not in this lifetime. Andi wanted to slap her lioness upside the head. The animal really didn’t give a shit how bad it made her look. No matter how good he was at making her chubby legs shake, he had to have lost his fucking mind to tell her people he was her mate.
Forget what Gerri said about giving him a chance. The collective gasp going around her elders and some of the males was enough to make her slam her forehead against the nearest tree.
“What does he mean, your mate?” Christoff, Shantelle’s grandson, spewed, his face raging red. Christoff wasn’t usually this pushy, but she knew he wanted to know so the pride was under control again.
“Exactly what I said,” Kasen growled. He took her hand and pulled her forward to stand next to him. “Miranda is mine.”
She glared at Kasen but didn’t bother denying his words. The reaction amongst the men in her pride was interesting to say the least. There was an instant looking at each other. For what, she didn’t know. Then they sized up Kasen. Big, strong, super alpha Kasen. They backed off instantly.
The women, on the other hand, seemed to want to get closer to him. Andi frowned at the look of interest Claudia gave him. Even Shantelle had a grin on her face.
“I scent no mating between you,” Shantelle winked at her. “But I think we can assume it will be forthcoming.” She glanced around at the others. “Let’s go. Miranda has business to handle.”
She ground her teeth to keep from snapping at the other woman. Elders were known for being nosy and minding anyone’s business. She didn’t care how intrusive they were until they started trying to tell her what she needed to do with her life.
After the group dispersed, she turned to face Kasen and yanked her hand out of his grasp. “Are you out of your mind?”
He looked so annoyingly good. His spiked up hair, and that damn beard was still there, still making her crazy.
His gaze met hers and the wolf snarled. She pressed her legs together. No fucking way. No. Getting turned on by him snarling was totally insane, but then again she wasn’t known for doing anything like normal people lately.
“Kasen, good to see you again,” Naya said as she returned from ushering everyone to the front. Naya wiggled her brows at Andi. She wanted to roll her eyes. Like alpha mutt didn’t see that.
“Very nice to see you again, Naya,” Kasen smiled. “Spike, get your ass over here,” he growled.
She’d noticed the guy giving all the males an evil glare and wondered who he was. She should’ve known. Big alpha mutt had his beta with him. Of course, with Kasen’s size and the look of pure dominance he gave the other males, clearly, he didn’t need anyone to have his back.
Spike was shorter than Kasen but bigger, with so many muscles she couldn’t help but stare at his body as he moved. He might be big, but he had the grace of a feline. He was the type of enforcer she wished her men were. Strong. Silent. Ready for anything.
They filed into her kitchen and the sudden scent of rotted meat made her wince. She glanced around to see something on her table.
“What the fuck is that?” Spike asked. “Please tell me you weren’t actually eating it.”
Andi rolled her eyes and glared at Naya for laughing.
“She’s not the best cook, but even she knows when meat goes bad,” Naya giggled.
“Someone’s idea of a fucking joke,” Andi growled and took a step forward only to be stopped by Kasen’s hand wrapped around her arm. She glanced up and met his ice blue gaze. “Yes?”
    “You get these
