women. Wolf cubs, children and babies. Different places, different seasons. But the feel of the images remained the same. People shrouded in love.
She was seeing and feeling a whole different universe. She was living, in one brief moment, the season of the wolf.
“Enough.” He pulled her away and she instinctively licked across the teeth marks on his chest. They healed almost instantly, leaving only a small, red scar.
He was still inside her. Still hard.
    She panted. “What just happened?”
He smiled down at her as he cradled her head against one arm and smoothed the hair away from her sweat soaked skin. “We mated.”
    “Wow.”
    “So now you know.”
She saw the uncertainly on his face, recognized the fear in the depths of his eyes. He was afraid she would reject him now that she k new the essence of his secret. Knew the truth of the shifter world. From what she’d seen, experienced during that flash of insight, she knew that wasn’t possible. She’d scoffed earlier as he explained about mates and mating, and the hand that fate played in a wolf’s destiny. She’d laughed, thinking he was simply trying to charm her, seduce her with his confession that they were mates.
Now she knew. She was his mate and he was hers. Their destiny had been determined long ago.
He placed a gentle kiss on her lips, a soft salute. “Merry Christmas, sweetlin’. Mate.”
    “Merry Christmas. Mate.”
He suddenly frowned. “Damn, I had a present for you.”
“I think you still do,” she murmured, clenching her muscles around the hard cock still filling her pussy.
He grinned down at her and her heart overflowed with love for her wolf.
“Oh, you’ll get a taste of my candy cane, baby.” He thrust slow and easy making her moan. “My other present is a tree. I left it around back. You distracted me when I came in from chopping wood. Trying to seduce me with your bare feet and all.”
“A tree! Oh, Jason.” She started to cry.
“What? Why are you c rying?” He voice held that note of confusion all men had when confronted with a woman’s tears when she appeared to be happy.
“It’s Christmas and I didn’t think I’d have anybody to share it with. Then your sister invited me to her house. Then you kidnapped me and seduced me.” This was said with another tight roll of muscles against his cock. “And then you give me a Christmas tree.”
“And my love. Don’t forget my love.”

Hours later, Priscilla lay curled in the arms of her wolf. His body was a warm, cherished presence that she’d thought she would never know. As she watched the moon through the window, she was amazed to see it snowing even though the full moon still hung high in the sky.
As she drifted off to sleep, she could have sworn she heard the sweet melodic tinkle of sleigh bells right before she felt a soft burst of energy inside her womb. She gasped and her hand curled protectively around her abdomen as the realization hit her.
She had just receiv ed another Christmas present from her mate, in this the season of her wolf.
