The Executive Consultant
to
break up with Lea. She had never wanted us to be together. All she had wanted was the money. Lea had told me the lengths
that some of her dad’s family had gone to get their hand on the money. Then I
remembered the way I had treated Lea about money. I looked at Erin as we both
sat down in the messy flat with hardly any money between us. Until I become a
consultant once more or more importantly get a new job, I could hardly pay the
amount that was needed to pay Erin’s fees while she was studying. I needed to
go to the bank tomorrow and ask for a loan or something.
I started to feel nervous about my future and about the mistakes
I had made and how the one woman I thought I wanted, was not the one I needed.
The only thing I could hear in my head was 'What goes around comes, around –
Karma: ain’t it a bitch!'
I flipped through the channels and came across one of my
favorite movies of all time: Basic
Instinct.
