him for being such a smart-ass. But I spit out an “Okay” because I don’t want to argue. Like Talon would ever be interested in letting me paint his toenails.
“What about you? You’re pulling out your guitar after your finals even though
that
hasn’t worked.”
“Hey, hey, hey. Girls dig the guitar.”
“Yeah, maybe if they’re into the guy first.”
    “Ouch.”
“You’re pretending to pull your heart out, aren’t you?”
“You know me too well. It kind of scares the shit out of me.”
    “You and me both, buddy.”
“All right, I hear Reagan singing her goodbye song.”
    “I do too.”
    We laugh.
“I’ll call you later. We’ll see where we’re both at. Good luck today.”
“Yup, you too. With finals and with Reagan.”
    “Thanks.”
We hang up right as Talon opens my bedroom door. “Reagan wants to say goodbye.”
I laugh because I can already hear her singing, “So long, farewell,” Wesley joining in. They sound awesome together, like always, and that makes me smile wider.
Maybe they are soul mates too.

Step 10:
Impress with Your Skills
(Don’t do that helpless, I-can’t-throw-a-football act. It’s so not working.)
    I love his muscles.
Can I lick them? Seriously, no one is around. And they’re right by my face. It could totally be accidental. I was licking my lips and whoops! I got Talon’s arm instead. It’s oh so brilliant, but I’m not quick enough. Talon’s arm loosens its grip, and he rolls on the ground, snow covering him from head to toe.
“I win,” he says, fist pumping the air in triumph.
Oh Talon, you sexy man you, I’m pretty sure I won that wrestling match. Well, I sure feel victorious.
I toss his coat back to him. Yes, I managed to get that off in our snow fight. He catches it and sits up to put it back on. Damn it, why did I give it back so easily? I should’ve kept it as an excuse to get him to wrap his arms around me again.
“You ready to build another snowman?”
“Because the one we destroyed wasn’t good enough for you?” I laugh, waving my hand toward the snow mound that was Mr. Drippy. The scarf we put around his neck is now half buried in the pile.
“No, he was too soft. We plowed through him like he was powder.”
“You mean you threw me into him!”
“ ‘Throw’ is harsh. I lightly tackled.”
    “Sure.”
He turns his head, smiling wide. His face is all frost-nipped and so adorable I want to pull out my phone and take a picture of him.
And because I’m so totally love-sessed, I do.
“What are you doing?” he asks, still keeping his adorable smile in place as I snap a picture. “That’s not going on Facebook, is it?”
I shove my phone back in my waterproof coat pocket and zip it up. “Of course it is!Under the title ‘The Day I Kicked the Quarterback’s Ass.’ ”
Actually, the title in my head is “The Sexiest Smile I’ve Ever Seen,” but I’ll keep that to myself.
He reaches for my phone, which is snuggling in my pocket. I giggle and roll over, snorting my unbelievably embarrassing snort as he pins my arms down with one hand and tugs on my pocket zipper with the other. This is totally happening! I’m in some dream wonderland, but it’s the real deal. Because I’m so pinching myself … well, as much as I can with my hands trapped, and he’s still laughing and sort of lying on top of me. Um, hello! Heaven is where I’m at.
“Damn thing,” he chuckles, still tugging at the zipper on my pocket. I pretend to struggle underneath him like I want to be let loose, but no way in hell am I going to try that hard. “Finally!” he says, digging into my pocket and freeing my phone.
    “Don’t delete it!”
He points the phone at me. “Say cheese.”
I shake my head wildly, letting my loose curls cover my face so he won’t get a good shot. But I’m laughing like crazy, and my stomach is jumping up and down so hard I wonder if he can feel it.
“Hold still!” He laughs again, and I secretly clap because
