confession, his heart skipped a beat. He was falling in love with her all over again simply because she was everything he had ever wanted in a woman, even before the changes.
Later that day, as he and Orlando worked and they discussed details about the club. “I called over to Surrender to schedule a walk-through for us.” He thought Orlando had forgotten about taking him back to the club. To be honest, they had been so busy during the week, they had not had the time. He was curious to see what really went on in that place but not curious enough to bring it back to his partner’s attention. Orlando did not forget much though, so he knew that sooner or later the subject was going to come back up.
“So, when are we supposed to do this walk-through?” He hoped he had time to prepare himself for whatever he was going to witness.
“Tonight after work,” Orlando responded nonchalantly.
Shocked at the short notice, he almost lost it. “TONIGHT? Wait, that’s too short of notice for me. I have plans with Courtney.” Orlando held up his hand, waving off any objections he had to them going to the club that night.
“Tell her you are going to be late. Just tell her you are going to be with me. She’ll let you off easy.” The cocky fucker had a point, though. Even though his best friend was no angel, anytime he said he was going to be out with Orlando, Courtney never argued or got mad. She obviously understood the bond between the two. She knew how far back their friendship went, and that they had each other’s back no matter what.

Chapter Nine
After responding to a few house calls and public disturbance calls, their shift was over and now it was time to face the music. He always kept an extra change of clothes in a duffle bag with him just in case he needed to change without going all the way home. This was one of those times. He tried one last time to postpone their visit to the club, but Orlando refused to give in. “Bro, I have already made the appointment. If I cancel on this dude he may not open up his schedule for another visit for us. We gotta take it now.” Taking a deep breath, Fabian looked at his friend and realized it was now or never. Calling up Courtney, he told her he was going out for drinks with Orlando and just as they had both suspected, she did not argue with his change of plans. He and his partner showered and changed at the station and then headed out for the club.
The greetings at the door were much different once they arrived in normal clothes. Dressed in black slacks and a button-down shirt, he pulled his hair down from the ponytail he was required to wear for work. Orlando was dressed in something similar. The guard at the door was the same from their previous visit but this time he explained the rules of the club and expressed the type of demeanor they were expected to carry themselves with in order to enjoy a full night at the club.
“We have an appointment with Vic. He’s giving my boy here the full tour,” Orlando told the hostess in the lobby after they entered the club. The hostess gave him a hungry look when his best friend pointed in his direction. “Top or bottom, if I may ask?” If he understood the term correctly, she was wondering if he was a Dom or a sub. “Just a spectator for the night.” He hoped his answer warded off her interest in taking the opposite position of whichever one he was.
“Well, in that case, have a good night and I hope to see you around here more often. Perhaps on your next visit you will be willing to take on a partner.” The hostess pointed them in the direction of the main stage to meet up with Victor. Vic was ending a session as they walked through the door. He noticed how most of the women and some of the men in the room turned their full attention to him as he stood there, under a dim light, against the wall. He did not know much about the official lifestyle, but he was hoping that he was not giving off any signs of wanting to be with a
