mind.   Now that Jason had asked, I was really feeling the hunger pangs.

Then I remembered that I never did tell him my name. "My name is Emily," I blurted out.  “I just forgot to tell you that earlier, when you rescued me.”

He looked over at me and said, "It’s nice to meet you."

I went on to explain that I usually have better manners, but I was just so nervous when he stopped to help me, it just slipped my mind.

"That's okay. We better get something to eat,” he said.

He walked over to the kitchen and fixed me a sandwich.  “Let’s sit down here at the table while we eat.”

I finally got a good look at my rescuer.  He was definitely a large guy. I would guess that he was about 6 ft. 4 inches tall.  He looked like he was in good shape, too.  Really good shape!  He had brown, wavy shoulder length hair and piercing blue eyes.  He was without a doubt the handsomest, sexiest man I had ever laid my eyes on and he appeared to have a heart of gold to boot.

After we finished our sandwich, he said that he had to go outside and check on his cows.  He left me alone in the house.  It was nice and comfortable.  The house wasn't overcrowded with too much furniture.  It was almost all brown.  Actually, there was a lot of brown in the house.  There did not appear to be any womanly touches in the house.

He came back about an hour later from checking on his cows.  “You can sleep in my bed,” he offered. “I’ll take the couch.”

I hadn't realized how late it had gotten. It was well after midnight.  I felt uncomfortable about taking his bed and told him so.  “Let me take the couch. Please,” I said.

He went and got a pillow and blanket for me and then he said goodnight.

It took forever for me to fall asleep. Thoughts of a gruesome death were no longer racing through my head. They were now filled with thoughts of what it would be like to “BE” with this Adonis of a man.

When I woke up that morning I could smell the bacon cooking in the kitchen. It smelled great.  I thought to myself, “Not only was this guy great looking with a hot body, he was kind and giving and, to top it all off, he could cook. JACKPOT!!”

“Good morning!” Jason said. “Are you up for something to eat?”

“That would be wonderful,” I said. “Thank you very much.”

He told me that he had called the repair shop in town to get my car towed and worked on.

“After breakfast would you like to go out and check on the cows with me?” Jason asked. “You might enjoy yourself and, if nothing else, it will be a time killer for you.”

“I would love to,” I said. “Sounds fun.”

We finished eating our breakfast, cleaned up the dishes, and headed out.

“Calving is a pretty busy time of year around here,” Jason said.

I hated to sound stupid but I had to ask “What is calving?”  I was a pure city girl and where animals were concerned I knew very little.

He said his cows were having their babies.

We went into the lots.  There were 2 new babies born.

“I like to keep the cows close to the house just in case they have any problems delivering their calves. I need to be there in case they need any help,” Jason said.

“Help them out?” I asked. “How can you help one of those huge things out?”

He explained that he might have to reach way inside of the cow, get hold of the calf and then help pull it out.

I gave a shudder. That sounded disgusting and the thought of doing something like that was starting to freak me out a little.  How gross.

Jason laughed when he saw my face.  "Sometimes that is the only way to get the calf out without losing it and possibly the mom," he said. “Every life is precious.”

I started walking over to one of the baby calves to give it a pat and Jason quickly stopped me.  He explained to me that these mother cows are very
