    “I’m sorry, I thought I was home still,” I mumbled apologetically. “Oh no, did I miss your speech? I was just so tired and the champagne…” I trailed off as his angered expression remained.
     
    “Who is Daniel?” His voice was sharp and angry.
     
    “He is…he was my boyfriend. But it is completely over.” I looked up into his face, hoping he could read my sincerity.
     
    His face softened as he looked down at me and I couldn’t help the smile that spread over my lips as I saw his handsome face so close to mine.
     
    “The party is over, but don’t worry. Everything went smoothly. I had several people request your contact info, you know.”
     
    Blake settled down in the chair next to me, but reached over to place his hand on my arm.
     
    “You did fantastic work. People are going to be offering you jobs after tonight. You are of course free to take any of them, but I would be honored if you would stay here and work for me. I will show you everything I know about advertising and business and introduce you to everyone you need to meet at the Harrison Media offices in Manhattan.”
     
    “I would love that,” I said with a yawn. “I like working for you. You’re not as scary as you pretend to be.”
     
    “Is that so?” Blake Harrison’s eyes flashed with amusement.
     
    “Mmhm. I bet there’s a lot you keep hidden. I wanna know all of it.” I heard my words slurring and realized I was drunk and being way too honest, but I was too tired to care.
     
    “Why?” He asked quietly, leaning closer to me.
     
    “I like you. In a strange way.”
     
    “I like you in a strange way too, Grace. I like you far too much for your own good.”
     
    His hand moved up my shoulder to my neck and gently stroked my cheek. I nuzzled against it sleepily. His hand stopped, gripping me firmly as his thumb moved to my lips, pressing them hard. I gasped, suddenly feeling much more awake. 
     
    “Grace…” His voice was raspy as he slipped out of the chair and knelt in front of me.
     
    “Yes,” I whispered back.
     
    He gripped his face firmly in his hands and moved towards me until his lips were hovering just inches from mine. I could feel the heat of his breath against my skin and all I could think about was those last few inches between us.
     
    “Please,” I whispered pleadingly.
     
    He pressed his lips to mine harshly. His lips were soft and firm, warm and strong. I parted my lips slightly and his tongue darted gently in, exploring my mouth as he pulled me closer. He tasted like champagne and mint. I pressed my lips hard against him mouth, pulling him closer, feeling the warmth of his body hard against mine.
     
    I let myself slide to the floor with him, my silk gown riding up as I landed on my knees. Blake grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap so I was straddling him, my skirt now pooled around my hips. His strong hands gripped my hips as he kissed me hungrily.
     
    I reached out and ran my hands over the smooth fabric of his suit jacket. I wanted it off. I pulled and yanked carelessly at the suit that was probably worth more than everything I owned.  The tailored jacket slipped off and I could see Blake’s strong, lean muscles bulging against his white button-down shirt.
     
    As I fumbled with the buttons, he slid his hands up my sides and pushed my long brown locks over my shoulder. He leaned forward, making my hands slip from the last button, and pressed his lips against my neck. My breath hitched as he kissed down my throat, his warm breath leaving a trail of shivers. His mouth finally reached the swell of my cleavage, kissing gently down the soft white skin.
     
    I closed my eyes, drinking in the delicious, forbidden sensation of his soft lips and scruffy stubble against my gently heaving breasts.
