knew he wouldn’t be able to live without her with him. All his training had fled. He’d never considered just wounding the twit—he’d made sure that O’Reilly wouldn’t breathe long enough to see another day. It felt like it took the paramedics forever to get there as he watched over her.

“Reno, I’ve so enjoyed my stay here in this lovely facility, but if you don’t break me out of this hospital, I’m going to hurt you!” she complained the next day. Her arm was still sore, but she could be sore at home, too. Flowers covered all available space, and she didn’t even know who all of them were from but suspected her dad did it.
Luciano had been there when she arrived at the hospital. He had stated that he had the perfect opportunity to get to know her since she couldn’t escape. From what she’d been able to learn about him, he was a really nice man…even if he was with “the family.”
Reno had been there, too. She thought that he probably felt guilty about her being shot, but she wasn’t going to question him about it. She enjoyed the time he spent with her as if each moment was the last because, as far as she knew, it could be the last one.
“Dr. Broughton said you could leave today. He just wants to make sure it looks okay. You’re going to have a few prescriptions to take as well.”
“Good.” If she had to watch the young nurses drooling over Reno for much longer, she was going to make them need a hospital room. While he didn’t seem to encourage their attention in any way, she was sick of seeing lovesick women fawning over him every time they came into her room. You would have thought he was the patient instead of her.
After checking out, she allowed Reno to drive her home, only he didn’t take her to her place. Instead, he drove her to his condo after stopping to pick up her medications. “What are we doing here? I thought you were taking me home?”
“You’ll stay here for a few days,” he informed her after getting her settled. “I want to talk to you.”
“Oh, have you found a Dom for me?” It was funny how those pain meds worked. She still felt pain, but she didn’t give a damn. They also allowed her to talk more freely. She giggled at the expression on his face.
“Do I need to spank your ass again?”
“Well, not if you aren’t going to please me afterward. It just doesn’t do anything for me that way.”
“It’s not supposed to, dammit.” He chuckled as she curled up next to him on the sofa. “What’s the rule in this house?”
“You must be nekkid at all times.”
    “Nekkid?”
“Yes, you must be naked and up to something.” Her fingers cupped and traced his cock. “You feel up.” He moved her fingers off of his cock.
“I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you.”
She sat up. “Fine, seriously converse with me. I’m listening.”
“Get naked, pet.” She maneuvered around on the sofa until she was able to strip off her pants and thong but couldn’t lift her arm up to get the shirt off. Reno helped by taking a pocketknife and slicing it down the middle.
“You know, that was one of my favorite shirts.”
“You won’t be needing it here, pet.” He liked the feel of her naked in his arms, so he pulled her across his lap. “Let’s talk about some things that need to be addressed.”
“Shit, what have I done wrong this time?”
He tweaked her nipple to let her know that he wasn’t happy with her remark. “First of all, you left without letting anyone know where you were going.”
“I didn’t know where I was going at the time. You had my cell phone—it’s the only place I had your number. Moving on!” She slipped her fingers under the material of his shirt. She loved the feeling of his naked flesh against her.
    “You didn’t call me back.”
“Again, you didn’t leave your number on my machine.” She traced her lips down his neck. “Doesn’t count.”
    “You mistook my phone
