pinned it around Sarah’s legs. It was awkward pinning it onto the girl while she lay facedown, but Julia thought it best to take the path of least resistance for the moment. While the diaper would provide a nuisance when it came time to spank the naughty girl, the overall effect would be both humbling and adorable.
Sarah had not thought anything of the soft fabric being wrapped around her legs, something Julia had counted on. She thought it was part of Julia’s peculiar method of drying her, just like the powder puff. When Sarah stood up, however, the bulkiness of the diaper took her by surprise. She tried to unfasten the pins, but Julia spoke to her sharply.
“Leave it. Little girls who don’t know enough to ask to use the potty will no longer be allowed to use it.”
Sarah had thought nothing could get worse than the past few days, and in an objective sense she was correct. Compared to the initial abduction, the beatings, and the imprisonment, what did it matter if she had cloth between her legs? Still, the diaper and its outrageous yellow duck safety pins mobilized her outrage in a way nothing else had done so far. She bounded to her feet, her chest swelling as if it might crack. “Take the damn thing off me!” She shouted, stamping her feet, and attempted to hit Julia. But she was too slow.
Julia had moved to the side and made sure she was not obstructing the surveillance camera hidden in the mirror over the sink. She had a feeling the outburst to come would provide Richard with a “gentlemen’s video” worth its weight in gold. As much as the clients of Dragon’s Lair valued the perfectly trained graduates, they still enjoyed the challenge of a fresh-caught recruit. Just as some cowboys preferred to catch and tame their own wild horses, some buyers wanted to see every single sign of the girls’ initial willfulness. In fact, Julia was betting that this tantrum to come would increase the girl’s asking price rather than the opposite. What man, watching Sarah’s hot-headed, angry reaction wouldn’t want to take her over his own knee to spank and spoil?
Sarah, unaware that she was playing into Julia’s hands, ripped at the cloth diaper. Failing to dislodge it from her body, she instead picked up the towel and heaved it at Julia. “I’ll call the police!” she screamed, choking on her sobs. “I’ll have you all locked up in cells and beaten and getting a taste of your own medicine. I’ll make sure every last one of you horrible monsters pays for what you did to me!”
Surreptitiously, Julia backed just far enough out of Sarah’s reach to nudge the ceramic soap dispenser forward. She suspected the girl would need more than one kind of lesson.
Sarah, oblivious to Julia’s musings, lunged toward the older woman once again. She was too slow, and Julia grabbed one hand and pinned it behind the girl’s back. Flailing and kicking, Sarah screamed insults about Julia’s height, parentage, nationality, age, and being both a female dog and a sex worker. Instead of becoming offended, Julia calmly wet a washcloth and lathered it with the liquid soap. She debated provoking Sarah just to see how far the girl would go, but Dr. Schroeder was still waiting. Besides, if she dampened the girl’s fire only temporarily, she might let loose an eruption in his office. It would be enough to make the man’s day, maybe even to change his mind about writing Julia up for bringing her charge late.
“Who the hell do you think you are?” Sarah’s face had grown red with exertion as she fought to get free. “You’re a psychopathic, sadistic, good-for-nothing bi—“
Enough was enough. Julia wrapped her right leg around Sarah’s front to pin her body next to her, and she released Sarah’s arm and instead grasped a handful of the lovely, shiny blonde hair. She yanked the girl’s head backward, and Sarah’s tirade stopped abruptly at the pain. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open, but even she knew better than
