other things, first.” His devilish grin sent flutters of
unease spiraling down her spine, until coaxing lips covered hers, silencing
objections raging in her mind. She really should object to his Neanderthal
tactic in shushing her. But his mouth felt so good against hers, too good to

    Chapter Five
     
    Daylight
had faded by the time Seth woke. He stretched careful not to wake up the beauty
slumbering next to him and turned to his side to look his fill undisturbed.
Practicing restraint, he fought the urge to touch every inch of her again,
ingraining his memory with the scent and sight of her. The years had treated
her well. Her beauty only blossomed with age.
    In
the ten years of separation there wasn’t a day he didn’t think of her.
Especially the first year he lost her. When depression sucked him down into an
abyss of nothingness, the only thing that breathed life into him was playing
sports or throwing himself into something so draining
mentally and physically all he could do was sleep when his head hit the pillow.
    He
couldn’t shake the feeling she was hiding something from him. Otherwise, how
could she be truly set against reconnecting, although her response to his touch
remained the same? Being buried inside her was like a little piece of heaven,
he never thought he’d get again. This time—he resolved to not fuck it up. And
really aside from his one lie, his one deception, they were a perfect fit in
every way.
    Careful
not to wake her, he rolled out of bed and headed to the bathroom. He needed a
shower and to find them some food. Stepping to the dresser, he opened the
drawers for a fresh set of clothing, choosing a T-shirt and basketball shorts.
Since Ryker copped the master bedroom with a full bathroom, he was forced to
share with Chandler. Rees, Quinlan and Sinclaire took possession of the added
bathroom off the media room on the bottom floor. For the most part, the trio
lived at her place. Their living situation couldn’t be more perfect. When Dire
married Mia, he rented out his house to them super cheap. They kept everything
in working order, made updates and had a chance to relax.
    He
turned to get his fill of Ailyn in his bed before leaving the room. The wheels
in his head spun as he tried to figure a way to ensure she returned to it every
night he had off if possible, or close to. She turned over and spread her legs out,
taking up the middle of his bed, murmuring in her sleep. The image brought a
smile to his face. Padding across the wood flooring, he slipped out of his
room.
    “Lover
boy is finally awake.”
    “Ha.
What are you doing, stalking my room?” He brushed past Chandler, into the open
bathroom.
    “Nah,
just getting ready to head out on a date. It’s good to
see you with someone who’s more your type.”
    “Yeah,
well. I gotta get clean and feed Ailyn. See you later?” He rarely saw his
friend dressed in anything but jeans and a T-shirt or athletic shorts.
    “Of
course. My date won’t last all evening. She wants to go to
some festival so off I go to please her.”
    “Now
I see why you’re all dressed up. The things we do. Hope it’s music.”
    “Nah,
arts and crafts, local artists, food vendors. I wasn’t that lucky.” He chuckled. Chandler waved off and he stepped into the
bathroom, placed his clothing on the small bench by the window, turned the hot
water dial for the shower and stepped in. As he soaped up, his mind wandered
back to all things Ailyn. What had she been doing the past ten years, why
wasn’t she married with two or three kids, a perfect house and family pet? His
dick lurched at the thought of his seed taking root in her womb.
    Last
