something was about to happen.  They listened as men got out of a truck behind the big rig.  The cursing they heard was over who was going to chop bushes.  Then one voice carried over them all and told them to shut up .  A few minutes later, they noticed bushes being chopped and they could get a better view of the gate.  Then they saw two men open the gate and they waited until the rig was inside.  The sheriff waited until the big rig was turned around and all the men were inside.  He waited until they entered the herd on horseback trying to round up cattle then he gave the signal and his men prepared themselves.
“This is Sheriff James with the county sheriff’s department.  We have you surrounded.  Stop what you are doing and put your hands up,” he said on his megaphone.   The men on the horses immediately stopped what they were doing and threw their hands up but the big fellow who had been driving the big rig tried to make a run for it.  The sheriff took chase after him and hit him from behind knocking him to the ground.  The man struggled and almost overcame the sheriff, but he slipped up and the sheriff managed to lock his arms behind his back.
The sheriff’s deputies all descended from the trees taking the men off their horses and placing them under arrest.  The sheriff made a call for a prisoner van and sent the man who hid his truck after it.  Once they got all the men in the van the sheriff and two of his deputies loaded up in his truck and headed to the main house of the ranch.  There was still one more arrest to make.
They got to the house only to find that Lisa had disappeared.  Josey said she left before everyone else got back.  She rode in got her bags through them in the car and left.  Heath said she was hauling ass.  He said she got a call when she was i n the barn and she looked scared.  The sheriff knew there was no one who could have told her about the arrest, b ecause they hadn’t made it yet.  Something else had her scared and running.  He had a feeling she may have been into something worse than rustling cattle, but he didn’t bring it up.  It was still just an idea.  “Well, we better go we got some paperwork to do and we got to find our lady rustler.” James said, shaking J.W.s hand.

Chapter Eleven

Lisa got word in town that the sheriff was looking for a woman invol ved in a rustling ring.  She sat and waited for her trucker boyfriend to meet up with her with the money he owed her for helping him with the rustling.  But he never showed and when she heard the waitress talking, she knew why.
Lisa got up immediately, paid her bill and headed for the door.  She got into her car and drove . W hen she got out of town , she stopped and rummaged through her things.  She found a wig and some shades and put them on.  She had been trying to come up with a plan while she drove and she finally came up with this one.  It was a bit of a last resort and one she hated but she had to do something or she would die.  She got back in her car and drove to an abandoned warehouse just on the edge of town and parked her car behind it, she walked up the road to the local Wal-Mart and headed to the camping section.
She paid cash for everything.  She purchased a tent, a first aid kit, lighter wood, matches, sleeping bag, a pot, and can goods.  She then found a big hiking pack to store everything in.  She made one more stop by her car to get a few clothes and set out walking down the highway.  She hitched a ride with a trucker and asked that he drop her off in what seemed like the middle of nowhere but it was actually at J.W.s property.  She hopped down from the truck waited until the driver was out of sight and then crossed the fence.  The place
