shift.
He snarled at me and I couldn’t focus on anything else but him. He hurt my mate, I felt her pain when she hit the wall and her sobs as she panicked. Rocky was going to pay for putting his hands on her.
I’m fine, love. You need to hide. There was no way I was going to let her know how bad it was. I didn’t have all my strength, so he was going to get an even fight.
I lunged at his neck, but he was prepared and moved in time for me to get caught in the ribs from his heel. I howled, and that’s the moment that everything changed.
Before I knew what was happening, I heard my mate howl loudly. I turned to look at her and Rocky made his move, lunging at my throat. He just made contact before he was thrown off me and into an old oak dining table. I heard the crack of his bones and his howling whimper.
I saw my beautiful Cat, as a tiny wolf with the most perfect eyes.
I’ve got this, my love. Please step back. I lunged at Rocky this time and didn’t miss, slowly ripping his throat out.
I felt her snout rub against my neck softly before licking my jaw. I absorbed her love and strength.
I love you, Hunter. Thank you for finding me.
    Thank you for saving me.
    There’s no me without you.
    Me either, my Cat.
I heard the howls erupt from Smith and Gage as they looked down at the body of Creed.
We all started to bay at the moon, mourning and calling to our brothers and sisters of the pack to unite.
“There are several changes of clothes in my car. I’ll be back with them for you all,” said Smith.
“Thank you, Smith,” I muttered. He was smart because I didn’t want anyone to see my mate unclothed. It didn’t matter that they couldn’t have her. It was just my possessive nature where she was concerned.

Chapter 9— Hunter

“Damn, you’re a strong old coot,” I said as I entered Creed’s hospital room.
“Don’t be jealous because I’m badass even though I’m not an Alpha.”
“That’s hard to believe considering all that you do and are.”
“We all can’t be Alpha. I was selected as the historian. Hopefully one day soon I’ll find my replacement.”
“You’re ready to kick the bucket? What about Maggie?”
“She’s way past waiting for me to croak. Her old bones can’t handle my stiff one anymore,” he joked.
“Shut up, you nutty bastard. You’re not leaving me anytime soon,” Maggie snapped as she entered the room with a sheen of tears in her eyes.
“I’ll talk to you later, and give you a proper introduction to my missus once you’re feeling better and get a shave. She can’t see you looking like some scary beast,” I teased.
    “You better, you scruffy pup.”
I left the hospital into the darkness in search of my mate. I could smell her, but it seemed she was in a playful mood tonight.
I followed her scent into the nearby woods. If she thought she could hide from me she was wrong. I worshipped her scent, and even with her ability to block her thoughts from me now, I could still feel her.
Bad Cat. Just wait until I get you, my mate. You’ll be in trouble.
    She just giggled.
    Big mistake.
I pounced on my bride and she gave a slight bark before I bit down on her back and pushed my cock into her from behind. I fucked my sexy wolf over the edge of the pond, the moonlight illuminating her hazel eyes in the reflection.
I howled as I rutted into her furry bottom. As much fun as fucking her like this, I preferred her womanly curves.
    Shift, love.
We do whatever the Alpha says.
She pulled away from me and ran along the edge of the pond before shifting and jumping in. I snarled and gave chase, shifted and joined her naked ass into the cold water. She laughed as she rushed out of the other side and laid down, looking up at the stars. Her chest heaving as the water glistened off her round breasts.
“I’m going to spank you for that woman. You think now that you can shift that I’m going to let you get away with shit like this. You’re lucky I’m always horny for
