and covering those big brown
eyes of hers with her own blood and then,
    “STOP!”
Nightmare jerked his head up at the
sound of Conner shouting at the top of his young lungs.
The room was deathly silent all but for
the sound of heavy breathing coming from Nightmare. The spilled
coke can ran out onto the beige carpet making a dark brown
stain.
    “Please stop. Please.” Conner begged
with tears streaming down his face.
Nightmare looked at him like he was
crazy; his hand still holding a chunk of Megan’s dark auburn hair.
He released his grip and her head bobbed forward. She came out of
her daze of horror and she began to slowly help Liz up. They
crawled away from Nightmare and back to the couch. Megan cradled
Liz in her arms. Andi went and sat next to them.
    Nightmare stood there breathing heavy,
keeping his eyes locked on the boy. He looked at him with a
contemplating look on his face.
Calmly, Nightmare said, “I thought I
said no hero’s boy.”
    Silence.
“You wanna save the day? Hero
boy.”
    Conner swallowed nervously. All three
girls had their eyes on him sitting at the end of the
couch.
“All right then,” Nightmare said in
that calm southern voice of his and that sick, evil fucking grin
returning to his scruffy face.
    “Suck his dick.”

Conner heard the words very clearly but
he couldn’t comprehend there meaning; almost like his brain had
turned on a safety switch as to protect him, but he did understand
and he knew what Nightmare had in mind when he nodded to his dad
laying on the pool table.
“Suck your daddy’s dick and we’ll call
it a day, what do ya say boy!”
Shock or no shock, Nightmare wasn’t
going to take no for an answer. He pointed his gun right at Conner.
The boy was frozen to the couch.
    “I said, suck your daddy’s
dick.”
In a desperate attempt to amend the
situation, Conner’s dad said, “I can write you a check for one
hundred thousand dollars right now.” It came out sounding pathetic.
Nightmare stood pondering what Edward said.
    “One hundred thousand dollars.”
Nightmare said it slowly. “Goddam that’s a lot a money daddy-o.
Tell ya what. You can write that check right after junior here gets
himself a mouthful of dear ol’ dad all right.”
Badman aimed his rifle at Edward. And
Nightmare yelled at Conner to stand up. He did. Megan was crying
and so was Andi. Liz lay quiet in Megan’s arms still, her blood
sugar going up,up, up and away. Megan suddenly said, “Please, she
has to get to the hospital now. Look at her.”
Nightmare responded, “Oh now sugar it’s
gonna be ok. As soon as little spitfuck here suck’s his daddy’s
dick, we’ll be on our way and you can take ol’ sugar mama there to
the e.r.”
Nightmare nodded at Conner. “Get to it
boy, c’mon.”
Conner broke out into a helpless
sounding, sick cry of defeat. He looked at his dad for an answer.
Edward only looked away from him with that same defeated look. But
as Conner was forced closer to his dad lying on the pool table by
Nightmares shot gun, Edward began to sob as well.
“Go on, get on your knees,” Nightmare
commanded.
Hesitantly, Conner did as he was told,
all while bawling.
“Dear god, please don’t make him do
this, please!” Megan cried out.
    “Shut your goddam mouth
girl!”
    Badman positioned himself right behind
Edward and put the end of his rifle on his forehead to ensure that
he wouldn’t move.
Edwards limp penis was right in front
of his son.
“C’mon boy that girl over there is
gonna die. You want her to die because you can’t suck a dick?”
Nightmare’s mind games were getting to Conner. He bellowed out an
anguished drenched cry. The whole room was filled with the sound of
terrified, sick crying.
Nightmare had enough. The cold steel of
his shot gun barrel met young Conner’s forehead. The sick fuck
holding the gun slowly said, “Goddamit in the name of Ilesha, I’m
only gonna tell you one time boy. Suck you goddamn daddy’s
