that told him she would say no just to spite him.
"I would never do anything you don't want. Haven't I told you that? I may be many things, but I don't force myself on women."
    "Oh no?" she sneered.
"I make myself and my intentions known. I may be driven, but I am not forceful."
Mariss lifted an eyebrow. In her eyes, he could see her yearning. She'd enjoyed herself that night at the club. He couldn't tell if that was what frightened her, or if it was her attraction to him. What he knew was how much she cared for her husband.
"One more chance," he blurted. "If you don't enjoy yourself tonight, then I'll take my losses and we'll be no worse for wear."
That frightened her. He saw it in the slight dilating of her pupils and the way her pulse fluttered visibly at her throat.
"You'll find I am very accessible," he said.
Mariss scoffed. "Yes, I see that."
He rolled his eyes, ready to shake her. "If you'll just listen to what I'm saying rather than assuming what you believe I'm going to say, you might actually hear something, Mariss."
To his surprise, a smile blossomed across her face and she started to laugh. "Yeah, okay. I hear you. Point to you, Sebastian. I'll give you one more chance. We'll see how tonight goes."

CHAPTER NINE

One More Chance To Get In Her Pants
The hotel suite was a nice one, but Sebastian had to chuckle. If they didn't want him to know where they lived, then it was a lost cause.
There was a wet bar by the door and a small sitting room around a TV that was already on. The bedroom was hidden behind double doors that the husband pushed open. He hooked Mariss around the waist with one arm and lifted her off the floor, pressed against him. She squealed and giggled, something that caught Sebastian off guard. He stopped in the doorway as the two kissed. When she opened her eyes, staring into her husband's, it was like ice cream and caramel syrup was pouring from the sprinklers. No woman had ever looked at Sebastian like that in his life.
"You two go ahead," the husband said to Mariss. "I want to watch for a while."
Sebastian gave a nod of thanks to the husband.
Mariss stood completely frozen on the other side of the room. She stared at him and he stared back. The husband no longer existed. Sebastian closed the distance between them with easy strides. With his hands in his pockets, he tried to be non-threatening.
"You remember the rules?" Mariss asked softly.
"I don't easily forget," he assured her. "Turn around." He made it a request.
Mariss turned her back. Sebastian grasped the pull on her dress and gently unzipped her from top to bottom. He pushed it over her shoulders, running his hands down her arms as he did. He caught the dress before it hit the floor, folded it neatly, and laid it across the end of the bed. Mariss kept her back to him, but she trembled beneath his hands. Sebastian wrapped his arms around her middle and bent low so he could whisper in her ear.
"If you're uncomfortable with anything I do, you must tell me. Agreed?" She nodded. "Good. Turn back to me, Red." Mariss turned, but her spine and shoulders were still stiff. "Are you shy?"
Mariss shrugged and he chuckled with glee. She frowned, her eyes showing hurt.
"You shouldn't be shy. You have a magnificent body." He ran his hands over the swell of her hips. "On the bed." Sebastian grasped her hips and lifted so she could tuck her knees underneath her and kneel on the edge of the comforter.
Mariss loosened his tie and pulled it over his head. Her fingers went to work on the buttons of his shirt next. The light touch sent tingles over his skin. Sebastian ran his hands up and down her legs, enjoying the smoothness of her skin.
"I've never been with anyone but Holden," Mariss confessed. "I don't show off my body for a living." She gave him a crooked smile.
Sebastian couldn't do anything but stare at her, smitten. When was the last time a woman's smile had left him with flutters in his chest? He couldn't remember it ever
