    He shook her awake. “Tara, love, are you okay? You seem to have bled. Did I hurt you?”
    She still appeared sleepy. “No, I feel wonderful, actually. Thank you, Brett.”
    He wasn’t sure what to make of her. She said she didn’t hurt but she was bleeding. Maybe he tore her open. “I think I should take you to the hospital.”
    Tara came awake at that. “No, are you kidding me? I feel amazing. It was the first time I’ve had sex, in human form,” she corrected herself. “Although I don’t have a hymen it’s still my first time and you’re quite large and,” she giggled, “pointy. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Truly, I feel no pain.”
    He was reassured, for the moment, but he wasn’t sure he would be able to sleep anytime soon.
    “In fact, I feel so good I’d like to do it again. Soon.” What was she thinking? Boys probably didn’t want to do that when there was blood involved.
    “ If you insist, I’m not squeamish.” Decker could feel her emotions and it was an altogether different feeling. She felt content and through their link he picked up no feelings of pain.
    Tara drifted to sleep right away but Decker remained awake, content to simply hold her in his arms. He’d just fallen asleep when he heard an irritating buzzing. He softly placed Tara on the nearest pillow so he wouldn’t wake her, and went in search of the buzz.
    He picked up his cell phone and looked at the screen. It read, ‘Alert, Alert, Alpha house. Emergency, come right away, possible security breech.’ “Oh shit!”
    He didn’t know he’d yelled it until Tara sat up in bed. “What’s wrong?”
    His stormy green met her brown. “Where are Abby and Brady?” He asked the question even though he knew the answer.
    “ Shana and Jake have them why? Why do you look like you’ve just been kicked in the gut? You’ve only been mated to me for a couple hours, it can’t be that bad.” She tried to smile but it looked strained.
    “ Get dressed; we need to go back now.” He was scrambling to find clothes to wear when he noticed her sitting in the bed. “I’m serious Tara, get moving. I just got and alert that there’s an emergency at Alpha house.”
    Tara jumped up and ran to his car naked. Decker collected her clothes as well and slammed the hotel door, locking it. “How often does Alpha house get burglarized?”
    Tara was pulling a shirt over head with no bra. “It has never been breached, that I’m aware of. Jake prides himself on security. Once, when Shana had that guy Ryan after her, a brick or something was thrown through the window. Do you think it’s something like that? What do you think it is?”
    Decker hesitated to answer because he knew Tara was going to freak. “I dunno, maybe a robbery.”
    She inhaled. “You’re lying to me! Mated, a couple hours, and the lies begin. Fuckaduck!”
    He turned to her keeping one hand on the wheel of the car. “I have no idea what’s going on, but Jake and Shana should have called one of us if the twins were involved. I also think it’s suspicious that you inform your old pack the twins are born, you’ve found a mate, and there is a break in.”
    Tara sat silent in the seat next to him before resting her hand atop his and saying. “The twins are safe, they have to be.” She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if something had happened to her twins. Especially while she was fucking and claiming her mate. Unacceptable.
    Decker pulled into the drive and Tara jumped out of the car before it was even in park. She ran through the open door and saw a furious Jake pacing in the entryway, talking to Paul.
    “ Where are they?” Tara was shaking and furious.
    Shana came in from the kitchen. “Oh Tara.” She was crying, why?
    “ Where are my kids?” She roared without thinking of pack placement. These were the people that took her in, and supported her through trying times. “Where?”
