meant tying her up and pummeling her ass red or holding her close while she cried. He was putty in her hands. She only had to ask.
He pulled her up from the sawhorse, holding her close. Tears streamed down her face, and he brushed them away with his fingers. She blinked up at him, her big, blue eyes filled with such affection it almost struck him blind. God, how he loved her.
Twisting her around, he fit her body to his. She went easily, not in any state of mind to fight him. He tightened his arms around her, so tiny and fragile in his embrace he wanted to hold on to her forever. She nuzzled her tear-stained face into his chest, tightening the band around his heart. When she curled into him like that, all soft and warm, especially after a long session, he felt a hundred feet tall.
    “Do you feel better, pet?”
She nodded against his shirt, her small body shivering in his arms. He tightened his embrace, giving her all the warmth he could offer. She lifted her gaze to his, her big eyes warm and glassy. “Thank you, Master.”
He almost groaned at her words. He loved nothing more than to hear her call him Master. Yet the way she said it, how she blinked up at him, there was no doubt in Grant’s mind, she held the power. She owned him in a way he could never own her.
“I needed that,” she whispered, her lips curling up at the ends.
Grant cupped his hand around her cheek, loving how she turned into his palm. “I’m happy to comply, pet. I’m here for you any time you need me.” He smiled, trying to add a wicked bend to his words, but they were true, down to the very base of his soul.
He tangled his fingers into her dark hair. With a sharp jerk on the strands, he tugged her mouth to his. Her lips were soft and pliable beneath his tongue. He moaned into her mouth, loving the taste of her, the feel of her in his arms. Heaven. He could never have enough.
They kissed sweetly, surprising after the session they’d just engaged in, but it felt right. A small worship to the emotions between them.
Though it almost killed Grant to pull back from their kiss, he had to. Who knew where her parents were, and they had to deal with this situation with her family, one way or another. He leaned his forehead against hers. Her soft breath wafted against his skin. Her sweet smell filled his nose.
“I love you, Kate.” He tipped her chin up with his index finger, meeting her eyes to ensure she understood him completely. “I love being with you. I love pushing you to those limits. But this can’t be the way we deal with all our problems. You need to talk to your parents. You need to set this right before the resentment builds too high and you lose them entirely.”
“I know. I will.” She blinked up at him, nodding.
Her lips parted slightly, temptingly close. Her scent captivated him, flowery and perfect.
She smiled, noticing his attention. A little flame of heat still lit her bright eyes. “In a minute.”
He chuckled softly before pressing his lips to hers again. They shouldn’t delay any longer, he knew that. But with her lips so close, her small, soft body pressed up against his, he was too weak to say no.
Just before his lips touched hers again, a squeak filled the air again, followed by the telltale rustle of steps across the hay-strewn barn. Two loud gasps filled the air, accompanied by the stomp of feet that were definitely not housed in horseshoes.
They weren’t alone in the barn anymore. And their audience wasn’t happy to see them.

Chapter Seven

    “Katherine Elizabeth Baker.”
Kate pulled back from Grant, turning in the direction of her mother’s cry. All the blood drained from her body, freezing her to stone. Just inside the door, her entire family stood staring at her. Their eyes big, their mouths agape. Her mother looked appalled, her father shocked, but it was Daniel’s expression that cut her to the core. The pain in his eyes stabbed her in the heart. He almost looked betrayed, though
