information, but all this was too much for her to take at once.  After the death of her father, Evelyn lived as if she will never look at another man again, but after almost ten years she probably had changed her mind.  Emma wasn’t against her mother having someone to love her, but why Mr. Jonson?
“We know that this is all too sudden for you,” Evelyn continued to talk.  “That is why we want to spend as much time as possible together.  Emma, you know Thomas, but you and Ross had never met before.”
“Maybe, it will be better, if we leave things at that...”  Emma said, looking uneasy and confused.
“What do you want from us?”  Ross asked impatiently.
“We thought that it will be good, if we all gather for dinner every Saturday.”  Thomas explained.
“One big happy family...” the young man added sarcastically.
“We could be, we all give it a chance.”  His father said seriously, while looking at his son.
“Mom, I am happy for you...” Emma decided that it was time for her to say something.  “And I will be very happy to spend time with you.”
After that, they all sat down and Evelyn and Thomas explained how they decided to marry, while on vacation and how much they loved each other.  Emma could see how happy they were together, but Ross seemed disinterested in what they were saying.
The young woman could feel his eyes on her almost the whole time.  He was looking at her intensely; listening to everything she was saying and following all her movements.  It was unnerving!
At one point, she went to take something from the fridge and Ross followed her to the kitchen.  Emma heard him walking into the big room and turned to meet him, “Do you need something?” She asked politely.
Ross did not answer.  He came close to her and successfully trapped her between the kitchen counter and the fridge.  “Yes,” he said softly.  “I want something.”
He used his height to bend over her and take something from the counter.  Emma could not see what it was, but she could feel the heat emanating from his body, the smell of expensive perfume and of something that must be simply him.  It seemed like ages to her, but finally, Ross moved a step away from her, leaving her enough space to breathe.
The sexual tension between them was tangible and Emma had real difficulty to talk or even breathe at the moment.  Ross watched her with a small smile on his lips and before turning around, bent down and pressed them to hers.
A jolt of electricity passed through Emma’s body at the contact, but before she could say or do something, Ross disappeared from the kitchen.

Chapter 2
During the next two months, Ross and Emma met on various occasions – from family dinners to business gatherings.  Thomas and Ross were both hotel billionaires, although, at the moment Thomas had almost retired from the family business.  He had a different view of life and what was important from his son, something that Emma had come to love about him.
Her mother and Thomas were very happy together, and that was all that mattered to the young woman.  Ross, on the other hand, was a different thing.  He came to all family dinners, but it was obvious that he did it because his father asked him and not because he wanted to be there.
Ross Jonson wasn’t easy to satisfy.  At 30 years of age, he had already taken over the family business and was responsible for the wellbeing of a small empire.  He was handsome, he was young, he was rich and successful in everything he did...  And what was more, he had the life philosophy of most rich young people – live your life to the fullest until you are young.
Ross was tall, almost 6’3, with dark brown hair and piercing green eyes.  His body was well build and the constant exercises were keeping him in good shape.  Outside of work, he spent his time with beautiful women and fast cars.  More often than not, his nights turned into days and his most eccentric adventures
