not matter when we got married or when you were conceived, the point is that you were a product of two people that managed to have love even with our careers. Jack, I'm sure, could create beautiful babies with you. The least you owe me is to go out on a date with him and give him a chance, if you are unhappy, then you and him are not obligated to go out any more, you and him can go your separate ways and not be bothered anymore.”

“Fine Mother, I will do what you want, I will take the chance on yet another of your failed attempts to arrange a date for me. I swear though if this ends the same as the others have, I will never let you arrange dates for me. I have a load of meetings this week so it will have to be later in the month before I can even think of having a date. Things at the company are not exceedingly well and I have to meet with some people to determine the best way to head with this. I will call you later in the week to see when I would be free to go on this disaster in dating. Is there anything else that you called me about or was you playing matchmaker just the main reason that you called?”

“Look Rach, you don't need to get upset with me, I am just doing what I can to help you and make sure that you are happy in your life. You need a man in your life that can help you feel fulfilled and complete. Jack I think would be a great man for you to have in your life. Trust me, you and Jack will have a wonderful time I'm sure. I'll let you get back to work and talk to you later, are you still coming to the party on the 15 th of this month? Your father and I would love to see you as it seems we barely have time to see you these days. Besides there will be plenty of cute guys there that you can try and play the field with. Well I will let you get back to your night just think it over about going out with Jack as I think he would be a good fit for you.”

Rachael hung up the phone and went about the rest of her evening. She continued to think about the date that her mother was trying to set her up on. It had not been the best of times for Rachael in her dating life. Her parents seemed to always find the scumbags of the earth for her to go out with. The last guy was a total douche and did not do a single thing except think and talk all about himself. When he found out how much money Rachael made, he actually left her at the restaurant and she had to call a cab to get a ride home. This seemed to be the normal routine for her most of the time. She did feel guilty if she did not at least give the date that her mother had set up for her a chance to prove he was an actual gentleman. Rachael called her mother back and said that she would go on this one last date. If it did not work out or if he was a total jerk that she would not go out on anymore dates that her mother set up for her.

Rachael a few days later got ready for the date that she had been set up with. Rachael had in her mind a thought that the man that was supposed to be taking her out was going to be a real loser. She hoped that deep down she was wrong, but deep down she knew that most of the men she was sent on dates with were jerks that were more obsessed with themselves than they were anyone else.

Jack arrived at her place to pick her up. From the first impression that she got from him, he seemed to be a real gentleman as he was doing all the things that she had seen in a number of movies in the course of her life. Rachael knew that the whole love at first sight thing was over rated but deep down had hoped that maybe Jack had some redeeming qualities that would make him a good catch for her.

The thing that really surprised Rachael was the fact that Jack bought dinner and did not have any issues in doing so. He was also a gentlemen in the fact that he was wanting to listen to everything that Rachael had to say. Deep down Rachael was having a hard time in finding anything that she could really argue about with Jack. He was in all
