back there!” she argued.
“Is it locked?” he asked without slowing down.
“Yes,” she snapped like he’d just asked her a stupid
question.
“Then it will still be here when I take you to work in the
morning,” he ground out.
“Where are we going?” she demanded, finally trying to get
free of his grip.
“Your place. My place. Doesn’t matter where we go, but we
are going to have a long talk about what is going on,” he told her again.
“You do not get to tell me what to do!” she shouted. “I
invited you to spend the night with me, but you were too busy playing burglar
with Sam. Then you get on my case for assuming the worst when you couldn’t even
be bothered to tell me the truth about what’s going on. Fuck you, Jordan
Drake!”
“My name isn’t Jordan. It really is Isaiah.”
“Of course,” she muttered. “Everything you’ve told me is a
lie, isn’t it? Was this all just some big game to you?”
Isaiah stopped walking and turned to look at her. His mouth
opened, and then he closed it before letting out a weary sigh. “Yes, I’ve lied
to you about a lot of things because that is part of my job. People pay me to
check their security for flaws, and that involves a lot of research. I’m
well-known in my industry, so I assume a different identity while I do the research,
and I do my best to remain anonymous. Your coffee shop was the last place I
should have picked to work, but I couldn’t stay away from you. I get that you
can’t have more, and I can’t have more, but fuck me if I don’t want it so damn
much I ache. I’ve wanted you from the moment I laid eyes on you, and that
desire only gets stronger the more I’m around you.”
Nikki’s mouth hung open for a moment before she finally
spoke. “I should go home,” she said softly. “Alone. I should go home alone.”
“But you don’t want to, do you?” he asked, opening the car
door for her.
“No,” she admitted as she slid into the car. “I just want to
be with you.”
Isaiah shut her door and hurried to his side of the car,
determined to get out of the area before she had time to think about this
anymore and insist he take her back to her car. If she’d refused to go with
him, he would have let her go, but he had no intention of giving her any time
to change her mind now that she’d agreed.
“Maybe we should go to your place,” she suggested.
“You’ll need clothes for work in the morning,” he reminded
her.
She nodded and gave him her address. He had no idea what was
running through Nikki’s mind, but he wasn’t done entertaining that spanking
fantasy. Then his mind wandered, and he wondered how she’d react if he pulled
her across his lap and spanked her. He knew some women enjoyed that sort of
thing, so she might like the idea. He was definitely going to test out this
fantasy with Nikki if she was game, but not tonight. Tonight, he was much too
desperate to get inside her body.
“What are you smiling about?” she asked, interrupting his
fantasy.
He hadn’t even noticed he was smiling, but it made sense
considering how much he was enjoying the thoughts playing out in his mind.
“Spanking you.”
    “What?” she gasped.
“I’m thinking about spanking you,” he repeated. “That’s been
on my mind since I realized you’d gone out at night when you know you’re in
danger.”
“So, you want to punish me like some naughty child,” she
sputtered, sounding seriously pissed.
When they were at a stoplight, Isaiah turned so she could
see his eyes when he replied. “At first, that’s what it seemed like. Then I got
to thinking about how hot it would be to see your ass wiggling around while I
spank you, and now, what I want has nothing to do with punishing you.”
Nikki’s sexy mouth formed a silent ‘O’ as she stared back at
him. The light changed so Isaiah returned his attention to the road before
speaking again.
“Have you ever been spanked?” he asked.
    “No!” she quickly
