her and they moaned in unison as he took one long thrust, exploding inside her. He swirled her around and caught her eyes turning back to their normal amber from a burning red. Her fangs had sprung out at the edge of her mouth and Thomas leaned down and kissed her.

Nessa ran her fingers through his hair and embraced him.

“You want my fangs to sting your lips” she asked between breaths as he kissed him.

“I wouldn’t mind if you stung me Nessa” he said still embracing her.

“I see we’re doing everything to turn aren’t we?” she teased.

“Why won’t you turn me Nessa, I’d be in a better position to help you fight the Reigns, you don’t know how bad and helpless I feel each time we come across them and you have to be the one protecting me” he said as he pulled back from her mouth and looked into her eyes.

Her fangs had gone back to normal and her eyes glistened in the bathroom’s lighting.

“I am not going to put you through this Thomas, you don’t know what you’re asking for. I myself would give anything to be a mortal, to experience what every normal mortal experiences”.

“You mean you wish to get old Nessa” he asked with a surprised face.

“I wish to be normal Thomas, just normal” she said as she looked deep into his eyes and shook her head.

“Please do not insist on me turning you, you don’t know how much it breaks my heart when you do” she said.

“But why, is it wrong that I want to protect you, that I want to be with you forever?” he asked, his tone getting louder with frustration.

“This is a curse Thomas, a curse I was born with and one I wouldn’t wish anyone to have” she argued.

“I don’t care if it’s a curse Nessa, all I know is I want to be with you forever, please Nessa I’m begging you to let me protect you, I just want to make you happy” he continued.

“If you really want to make me happy Thomas, then you’ll never ask me to turn you” she said as she took a towel from a hanging hook then headed out the bathroom.

Thomas hated it when they argued. Although they’d been together for six months, their arguments had begun only recently when he discovered she was a vampire. He wanted to be turned so he’d be in a better position to defend her when they encountered the Reigns.

He felt so helpless every time they got into a fight and he couldn’t do anything. Their last attack had been almost fatal. He got bit by one Reign and Marcus sucked the Reigns blood out of his system before he could turn.

The worries on Nessa’s face every time he got hurt only made him feel worse. He didn’t understand why she didn’t want to turn him, but he was going to respect her decision if it was the only way to keep their peace. He wanted to be with her and if staying human was the only way to make her happy, then he wasn’t going to insist.

“Listen honey, I’m sorry, I hate it when we fight and I’m not going to insist on this subject anymore” Thomas said as he walked back to their room to find Nessa brushing her hair.

She stopped and looked at him, he’d wound a towel on his waist to cover his nakedness.

“I hate fighting with you too honey, you don’t know what it’s like being a vampire, it’s not as easy as you think. I’d hate myself Thomas, since it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, especially someone I love so much” she said.

Thomas walked to her side and embraced her tightly.

    “I’m sorry honey” he muffled.

Chapter 2
Back in Trina’s room, she stood at the balcony looking down at everyone going about their businesses. As she looked down, she noticed Ariel talking to some Araneas and wondered where Jack had gone to. Her thoughts were distracted with a knock on her door.

When she went back inside her room, she opened the door and saw Jack standing there. Without a word, she turned and walked back into the room.
