hesitate. She’d suffer for eternity if it meant saving Remington.
Remington growled, long and deep as he continued to try and escape Luc’s hold.  He felt his vocal cords unthaw and bellowed, “There is no way in hell you’re marrying some other man, Clementine.”
“I see your vision has returned.” Luc continued to converse with Clementine as if Remington had never spoken.
He cursed again, trying desperately to free his arms and then his legs. “What vision?” Maybe if he kept them talking, Luc wouldn’t realize he was breaking free.
    “Didn’t she tell you?”
    “Tell me what?”
“Well, when Clementine first met you, she had a vision about you.”
“So?” He’d had quite a few fantasies of his own about her.
“This one showed her marrying another man. While you watched, seemingly uncaring that she was.”
Remington’s gaze flew to Clementine. “Is that true?”
She nodded her head slowly. “I knew you didn’t want me. Never really would.”
Remington’s demon went own full-blown alert. Before he could say anything, the granite walls begin to shift. Once the walls stopped moving, a large boxing ring appeared in the middle. The dark fae materialized inside, dressed in black silk shorts, his hands taped. He looked like an MMA fighter.
Before he could form another thought, Remington found himself in the ring, his attire now a mirror image of the dark fae’s. The other man started circling him, and Remington knew the fight was on. Luc popped into the ring. “And now ladies and gentlemen. Oh, wait, we have no audience.”
Remington shouldn’t have been surprised at Luc’s showmanship. With a flick of his hand, the other man opened a portal and out poured his family. Rafe and Julie, Roark and Kayley, his father and mother, and Kayley’s father, Ephraim. Another flash and Kayley’s mother along with her two sisters and their husbands appeared.
What the fuck? Remington thought. Had Luc lost his everlasting mind?
“What the hell are you doing now, Luc?” Ravjeer and Ephraim immediately stepped forward. They were both thrown backward by a blast of power from Luc. Both Roark and Rafe had been required to prove their love for their new mates. Remington had no problem with doing the same. He had an issue with Luc for putting Clementine in danger. Now that the dark fae wasn’t holding her, he really had no problem beating the man to a bloody pulp.
“It’s alright, Dad. I’ve got this.”
“Not the point, son. The curse is broken, and he needs to learn his place.” Ravjeer stepped forward again—and again he was thrust backward. Rafe caught him before he fell on his ass.
“You always were a little wise-ass, Luc,” Ephraim said. During the last two encounters the Conroys had with the Prince of Darkness, the demon had proven invaluable. For some reason, Luc was a more than a little weary of the half-demon, half-incubus. “Cut this shit before I—”
Another wave of power and Ephraim found himself on his ass on the granite floor. Luc walked to the edge of the boxing ring, looking down at his captive audience. “I’ve tolerated your interference long enough.”
Remington realized Luc had never been afraid of the two other demons. He’d simply used them as he used everyone else—for his own gain.
Luc turned back to the two fighters in the ring. “Alright gentlemen, let me go over the rules. Oh, wait, there are no rules. Anything goes. I have, however, temporarily taken your powers. Only those you were born with are yours to use.”
Luc disappeared from the ring as quickly as he’d appeared. Remington saw him reappear behind his family. He gave Remington what could have been interpreted as an encouraging nod. Seeing no other alternative but to fight the dark fae, he put his hands up, eager to get this over with so he could hold Clementine once again. He looked down from the ring and saw her standing next to his parents.  Her face was white, and he wanted nothing more than to
