Agent Carson."
"You too, ladies.  Glad to see you in your first real aid situation, Diva."
She replied, "Yeah, I'm glad to help!"  She immediately lamented the loss of her pretty mini-dress and boots, though.  I think I can help Dr. Turnquist 'see' what Diva really means if she wants the same type of costume.
I stepped up into the air a few times and watched Diva jog a few steps and leap up to begin flying as well.  At least this time all the nearby mindviews are looking at her rather than me.
I turned and flew through the city, making sure Diva was keeping up.  She seemed to pick up on her flight rather quickly - although it was interesting that she kept thinking of it as shifting gears to speed up or slow down rather than my method of pushing off or stepping down to do the same.
I noted that she really didn't even mind being nearly naked.  If anything, she seemed to enjoy the attention of the people that much more.  Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
We landed outside the plain building Dr. Turnquist had her office in.  I walked up and tried the door, but it was locked.  Then I realized that I didn't even know her number - Lance had been the one to contact her for our costumes.  Hmm, he'd gotten the number from Ms. Casey, his mother.  She was much like a mother to me as well; I spent so much time at her place in my teens.  I pulled out my cell phone and called her.
The phone rang a few times and her voicemail recording picked up.  I sighed.  "Hey mom, this is Steph, can you get me the number of Dr. Turnquist ASAP?  I'm standing outside her office and the door is locked."
I hung up and looked at Diva.  "Sorry.  We'll have to do...."  My phone rang.
    I answered, "Hello?"
    "Hi dear, this is Janey."
    "Oh, hi, Ms. Casey!"
There was a lot of background noise as she said, "I just missed your call, I was moving a beam."
"Are you at work right now?"
"Yes I am.  I'm up on a skyscraper, holding the beam while we talk, why do you ask?"
"There's a lot of background noise."
"Oh, that's the wind - it's fairly heavy right now."
"Did you say you are holding up a beam right now?  Like one of those big metal I-beams?"
    "Right.  Why do you ask?"
    "Isn't that hard to do?"
"Nah, this one weighs around eight tons; it's not a big deal."
I heard a voice in the background through her phone, it sounded like she put the phone against her while she yelled, "I'm answering a phone call!  Yeah, whatever, it's not that heavy, just hold on a second!"  Her voice became clear again as she said, "Sorry about that, dear.  So what can I do for you?"
"Oh, I'm standing outside Dr. Turnquist's building with a new H.E.R.O. agent, and she, well, desperately needs a costume.  She's practically naked right now.  Can I get her number from you?"
"Sure, I don't have it memorized, but as soon as we hang up I'll send you her contact info from my phone, will that work?"
    "Great!  Thanks, mom!"
"I love that you call me that, you know.  How are you and the boys doing so far?  No one has bothered calling all week, and I was beginning to get concerned."
"It's just been really busy.  Lots of hero stuff, helping in kidnapping cases, the boys got captured, we got everyone out.  Yeesh, it's been busy.  That's not even counting school or learning our powers better."
"Hmm, you mentioned that you could hover on Sunday, what happened with that?"
"Oh, I can fully fly now.  I know I can hit Mach 1, though I'm not sure if I can get much faster than that.  It kind of depends on how hyped up I am."
"Mach 1?  Really?  You'll have to fly up and see me soon, then.  You can't claim it'll take an entire day to drive to New York now."
I laughed, "I'll try to do that soon.  Did you mean me and the boys, or just me?"
"I'd love to see either or both.  Listen, the guys here are waiting on this beam, I really ought to go."
"Okay, thanks for the info on Dr. Turnquist."
"Sure thing, I'll have that to you in a second.  Bye,
