With Her Capture
his lungs. It was a ferocious, terrifying sound.
His scent changed. Magda inhaled his aggressive, protective aroma.
He then bull-dozed into her, knocking all air out of her lungs when
he crushed her to the ground.

Chapter Six

    Magda wasn’t able to
see the result of her work. The ground shook when the tree fell.
Water splashed and in spite of Ayden damn near suffocating her by
lying on top of her, cold water soaked both of
them.
    He continued growling,
every inch of him trembling. It was the predator in him, as well as
the protector’s need to attack and protect. Yet there was no enemy.
Then slowly his scent changed. Yet he didn’t move off of
her.
    This wasn’t what she
expected. She’d just given Ayden a full-blown example of her gift,
of the ability existing inside her due to the Malta werewolf blood
in her system. And he smelled of lust?
    She took another
breath, this one not as deep. There was no doubt. Ayden’s aroma was
strong, powerful, and so rich, almost sweet. Definitely not spicy.
He wasn’t pissed. She didn’t smell anything sour. He wasn’t
disappointed. Magda picked up on one scent, and only one. Ayden
wanted her, now.
    Did being a Malta
werewolf turn him on? That made absolutely no sense at
all.
    Magda tried moving
underneath him. She twisted, then growled when he didn’t
move.
Get off me! Why aren’t you angry?
    Ayden moved his head
next to hers. She turned and stared into his eyes that glowed with
a vibrancy and energy suddenly radiating off him. He opened his
mouth, showing off bright white, long sharp teeth.
Are you grinning at me? Fucking tail!
You’re making fun of me,
she snarled,
curling her lip at him.
He moved on top of her.
Magda stilled. His dick was hard—very hard.
    She wasn’t sure what
possessed her. Ayden was twice her size. He was physically
stronger, and faster than she was. An urgency she wasn’t able to
label seized her and she pushed with all she had then darted
forward and out from underneath him.
    Magda didn’t make it
far. Ayden pounced. He was behind her so she didn’t see the action.
She swore he must have left the ground and flew through the air
because he landed on top of her a moment later. Partially
surprised, but more than a little bit turned on, Magda once again
found herself underneath him.
    She was on her side
with too much muscle and male smothering her. Magda stared up at
Ayden. She knew the look of a male when he wanted to fuck. Ayden
definitely had that look on his face. But there was something
else.
    It scared her. She
growled at him. He’d said he wanted to lay his kill at her paws.
There was no way he wanted a long term relationship with her,
though. Ayden smelled smart enough to understand how much that
wouldn’t work for the two of them. He’d be committing himself to a
life on the run.
    Damn him. When she
growled he started panting. There was no denying the cocky grin
when he stared down at her.
    She did want him. But
she wanted her heart in one piece when she had to run again. It was
no secret that life wasn’t fair. Magda accepted how things were for
her. Would spending time with this male be worth it? Once he
started thinking with the head on his shoulders again, he’d smell
the truth of how a life with her would be.
    Already she knew the
answer to her question. Maybe she wasn’t thinking with the head on
her shoulders either. Because there was no way she’d be able to
turn him away.
    Ayden ran his tongue
over her fur. Physical sensations conquered her worries. On one
side of her, the frozen ground seeped deep into her coat and
chilled her. On the other side, his large, thick body emitted
warmth she swore was hot enough to melt the snow around them. But
when he licked her again, the intense heat from his mouth scorched
her hide, her mind and frazzled her senses.
    He continued stroking
her body with his tongue, then started nipping at her neck. She
looked up in time to see his eyes grow heavy. They half-closed and
if she let
