Tracey,” he said, winking devilishly as he showed the array of white and red roses.
â€œThose are beautiful. Here, let me place them on top of the cabinet until you are ready to give them to her.”
â€œMama!” Tracey yelled in a panic from upstairs.
â€œYes, baby? What is it?” Amanda rushed up the stairs to Tracey's room.
â€œI saw Tony's car pull up, and I can't zip the back of this dress,” she said frantically.
â€œHoney, Tony is fine. He's in the kitchen helping Melvin with the groceries.”
Tracey rolled her eyes. “Oh, Mama. Why is he doing that?”
â€œBecause he's a gentleman and knows that if he's going to date you for very long, he better at least act like he doesn't mind helping out if your mother needs it.” She firmly patted Tracey on the bottom and then zipped the dress.
â€œTurn around now. Let me look at you.” Tracey turned around slowly like an angel on a music box. The silky gold fabric dress was form fitting with a simple and straight neckline in the front and back. It tastefully accentuated her shapely hips and well-formed breasts. She wore a pair of sling backs the same shade as her dress.
Tracey reminded Amanda so much of herself that it left her breathless. Although, unlike Amanda, Tracey was tall and model thin. She had Amanda's eyes and wavy hair, but her face was definitely the spitting image of her father's. Her skin was a rich brown coffee with a just a hint of cream.
    â€œYou look beautiful, Tracey.”
    â€œThank you, Mama,” Tracey said.
Amanda noticed she was suddenly drifting miles away. There she goes again. What is going on with you, Tracey? “Baby, is everything all right?”
Tracey smoothed out her dress and took a long look in her full-length mirror behind her door wishing she were back with him. He was so charming and she loved how their conversations made her feel so good about herself.
    â€œTracey!”
â€œI'm sorry, Mama. Did you say something?”
â€œYou're so far away. Where were you just now?”
â€œOh, Mama,” Tracey said, trying to smile thoughtfully. She hoped that her evening was not going to be ruined with a lengthy discussion about her feelings. “Do you think Tony will like me in this dress?”
    â€œIf he's not blind!”
â€œThank you, Mama.” Thank you for not grilling me, and thank you for saying Tony will be pleased with me in this dress.
â€œYou're welcome, baby.” But just know you're only off the hook for tonight. I will find out what is going on with you. One way or another.
Tracey kissed her on the cheek and glided down the staircase. She peeked in the kitchen and saw Tony helping Melvin with the groceries.
â€œWow, you look great!” Tony said as he opened his arms and gave her a big hug. Melvin decided it was a good time for him to start carrying the food to the basement and give them a few minutes alone.
â€œOh, I almost forgot. I've got something for you.” Tony pulled the roses off the cabinet and handed them to her.
â€œTony, they're beautiful!” she gasped, looking into his eyes. Then he pulled her toward him, pressed his lips against hers, and gave her a slow, passionate kiss.
â€œI better get these into some water before they wilt,” she said, moving backwards in slow motion as they continued staring into each other's eyes.
Tony watched her leave the room. Her heart-shaped behind moved like a pendulum while her dress swayed then molded to her every curve. His arousal was hard to conceal.
â€œTony, I have to say it again. Those roses are beautiful,” Amanda said as she entered the kitchen.
â€œThank you, Ms. Shipman,” he said, quickly grabbing another bag and strategically placing it in front of his bulging crotch. He walked toward the other side of the kitchen to continue placing the canned goods in the cabinets.
â€œHey, Tony, I'll finish the rest up,” Melvin called out as he
