concerns you. I think it is time to talk to my parents. We should be wed before we head to our winter camp. My Father is very ill and I think it would make him happy in his last days, to know that I am happy and truly in love and I do love you with everything that I am. The Great Spirit has seen fit to bring you into my life and I see no reason to wait,” he exclaimed.
“Oh Shadow Spirit, I will be so glad to be your wife. I think your mother suspects and I believe she’ll be pleased that she’s getting a new daughter.” Abby said.
“I do not feel as if you are my sister.” Shadow Spirit whispered in Abby’s ear.
He took her face in his hands and slowly kissed her. His tongue was playing over her full lower lip as if waiting to gain entrance and to taste the sweet delights that were hidden inside. He released her face as she put her arms around his neck to draw him closer. His greedy hands slid down to her luscious breasts. Her creamy skin was as smooth and soft as velvet. He gently rubbed the bud of her left breast, feeling it harden in his palm.
Abby felt as if she was going faint from pure emotion. She leaned even closer to Shadow Spirit. She didn’t feel shy at all. She pulled his face back to her and lovingly kissed him. He began to shower her face and neck with kisses.
He pulled back from her and could see the passion that she had for him on her flushed face. “We need to stop, this is not private someone could come to the stream at any time. I don’t want anyone talking about us. I love you and want you more than I thought it possible.”
“I want you also,” Abby said as she began straightening her dress. “I hope we are married soon.”
“We will be, just as soon as it can be arranged, my people can get a celebration ready quickly.”
“I’m one of your people now.”
“Yes my Love you are.” He kissed her once more before he stood, pulling her to her feet.
Little did they know that they were being watched? Lone Raven stood behind a tree. She watched unashamed as they had spoken words of love. Some day she vowed she would kill the white whore who had stolen Shadow Spirit from her.
Chapter Ten
The clouds hung low in the sky when Shadow Spirit entered his father’s lodge.
“Hello Mother, how is Father today?” He asked.
“He is weak son. He did not sleep well. He coughs so. I have told him that you and Abby wish to speak to him. Is this something that your mother can also hear, my son?” she asked.
“Yes Mother. I want to tell you both our news together. Where is Abby?” He asked.
“She is at the creek getting water to boil, so that we may clean the wild turkey that Gray Wolf killed this morning. She will be back shortly.” Green Eyes answered.
Shadow Spirit walked to his father’s sleeping mat and kneeled beside him.
“Father,” he said quietly not wanting to wake him if he was able
“Yes my son I am awake. I wait anxiously for the words you wish to say to me. Your mother said you were quite mysterious.”
“No great mystery Father. I would like to wait until Abby returns this concerns her as well,” he said.
Abby walked back to Chief White Feather’s lodge in a state of complete happiness. She had spent a glorious afternoon the day before in Shadow Spirit’ arms, and today they were to tell his parents of their wish to marry. She loved him with all of her heart and she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Shadow Spirit and these wonderful people. They had accepted her without reservation. She hoped it wasn’t just because she lived in their Chief’s lodge. When she entered the lodge he gave her a reassuring smile.
“Come, we will talk to my parents now,” he said.
“Father, Mother, Abby and I would like to tell you something.”
“Yes son what is the news you wish to share with us?” his father replied.
“We want to be joined. I thought our union should be before we move to our winter camp in the Black
