that heavenly smell? I’m starving!” She giggles and tries to escape my arms, but I tighten my hold.
“Let me go and I will bring out dinner, silly rocker dude,” she says squirming and giggling.
After much needed tickling I let her go to get dinner. She tells me to go sit at the table and she’ll bring everything to me. What a fucking girl! My beauty. Once everything is set on the table and we dig in, I take a swig of my beer and place it on the table hard. Her head shoots up, a concerned look on her face.
“So. When do we move?” My smile is huge and only for her.
Her face softens, her smile gorgeous. “Well, we can move in tomorrow, if you like. Or do you work tomorrow?” The frown reappears.
“Nope, Shane left me a text, apparently after my drunken display, and said see ya on Monday.”
Thank, God. I would not have been worth shit.
“I guess he just moved all my appointments to Monday. Really need to do something for him.”
She lays her fork down on her plate and wipes her mouth. Her chin rests on her hand, and she smirks at me. “Yes, you do. We both do. After helping you, in your drunkenness, and us both with everything he’s done, we both owe him.” She sits up and grins. “Well, we need help moving tomorrow and he has his truck. Why don’t we ask him to help and have a cookout at our new place afterwards, get beer, kind of a house warming without everything in its proper place, messy kind of thing?”
I smile back and slap the table. “Great idea! I’ll get on my cell and after dinner I’ll call around for more help.” I look around the living area. “This all came with the apartment and I certainly don’t want it in our new place. Why don’t we go shopping later?”
She nods, the happiness glowing all over her face. “I’ll call the real estate agent. Ok. I can’t eat. You go ahead, I’m too excited.”
I finish eating and clean up while she talks excitedly on her phone, pacing around the apartment. Then I make all my calls. All our friends are coming to help, except those that have to work, but they will join us after they get off.
I think I learned a most valuable lesson the last 24 hours. Sometimes you have to swallow your pride, just a little, and let people help you. Especially, your girl. My girl. Fuck! I can’t believe she’s mine.

Chapter Seven
Who would have thought that with the money I’ve been saving I could buy some really great furniture for our new place. Tons of stuff we both loved was on sale. Lucky. New bedroom furniture, couches, chairs, dining room set. Ok. I let her buy the bedding and some appliances for the kitchen. See? I can swallow my pride. Who’d a thought? It will all be delivered on Monday so we will use my old bed until then.
We’re exhausted, ok at least I am, when we crash into bed that night. My beauty all snuggled up to me. Fuck, I love this. So, in the morning, we’re gonna get up early to pack up. Hey, at least she hadn’t had time to get much out of her luggage or that would take another day with all the shit she has. Stella is watching Jesse and Cassie’s twins, so they can help. Jesse yelled at me about the charity gig in L.A. until I told him what happened then he apologized and then proceeded to tell me he has another one already set up in New York for us. Wow. Another person I owe, deeply. Shane is coming along with Buck. Buck decided to close shop at noon, so they could help out, said Shane could take the day off. He said they didn’t have much scheduled anyway, lucky for me. Allie will come over later since she really can’t lift anything anyway being pregnant and all. And Peter and the rest of the Sweet Café gang will come over that evening to celebrate and help cook. I am one lucky man, having all these friends.
The next morning I awake to find my beauty gone and music playing from the living room. I head to the bathroom to get a quick shower and get ready. When done, I walk into the living area to find Pax dancing,
