something you think you might want to do permanently?”

    “Well,
this job can be intense but I do like the work and I am really learning a lot
about the real estate market. So yes, this is something I can see myself doing long
term.”

    “Good.”
Ivan said. There was silence. Stephanie was the first to speak. “Can I ask you
a something not relating to work?”

    “I'm
listening.” He said while staring directly into her eyes.

    “Why
did you kiss me a few weeks ago?” He continued to stare into her eyes a few
more seconds before he answered.

    “You
have the most amazing lips. They looked so inviting that I could not resist.
After doing so I realized that it was inappropriate and I assure you that it
will not happen again unless it is initiated by you.” He said confidently.

    “Oh
really and how do you know I would ever initiate such behavior.”

    “I
don’t, but I will not make that mistake again. I am not an impulsive person.
Everything I do is thought out thoroughly. So that kiss will not happen again
unless it is something that we both agree on.” Ivan said.

    “Okay
good enough.”

    “Why,
Is there a boyfriend I will have to worry about?” He said smiling.

    “No.
No boyfriend.”

    “Humph.
I do remember that not being a topic you wanted to entertain when we went to
dinner. Have your past boyfriends been that horrible?”

    “Let’s
just say that I have on innate ability to attract losers of the lowest kind.”

    “Care
to elaborate? You don’t have to if it’s too personal or painful.”

    “I’m
sure you don’t want to hear about my pathetic personal life.”

    “Actually
I do because I know that you are far from pathetic. So, I would like to know
what makes you think your personal life is such.”

    “Where
do I start? Well, let’s just say I’ve always been an assertive person, but for
some reason I developed a submissive personality when dealing with men in the
past. So while I was in college I decided to be more direct in my approach, but
some of my male companions said I was too abrasive. I guess that came from
years of being stepped on.    When I am pushed to my limit, I severed those relationships. I was
definitely not a “let’s just be friends” type of person. Anyway after college I
tried to find that happy median, with the help of my best friends I think I was
able to. I thought I found it in my first real adult relationship with a guy
named Mark. He was one of those men that every girl on campus wanted to go out
with. He was a real ladies’ man. Although I knew about him in college, we did
not get together until we had both graduated and I had gone back for our
homecoming. We started talking and eventually became a couple, I was determined to make that relationship work.

    I
really thought I found my soul mate, I had this notion
when I was young that I would save myself for my husband. I pictured myself
falling in love and my husband would be the only man who would have my heart,
body, and soul. But life has a way of smacking you in the face and out of those
fairytale views of life.   Because I
was a virgin when Mark and I started dating I told him I needed time before
taking the next step with him. I guess this is TMI {Too much information}.” She
looked over at Ivan and he was staring at her intently, truly taking in
everything she was saying.

    “No.
Please continue.”

    “Okay,
well my friends thought I was crazy for saving myself. My friend Tara always
believed that you should take a test drive the car before it.” She smiled when
she thought of how many test drives Tara had taken since she’d known her.
“Anyway, I decided that it was probably silly to stick to a rule that I had as
a young girl. I decided to take that next step with Mark.   I planned the entire evening. I planned
to come home a day early from a Conference I had to attend for work. I knew
Mark would be at his
