broke me down and saw through me, and although I wasn’t
completely at ease with that idea, it was okay. He made me feel
like everything would be alright, and he would help me in any way
he could to make me feel safe and secure.

    I woke up Friday morning,
and Tyler was asleep on the couch. I didn’t ask him to stay but
after the things I’d told him, I was happy that he didn’t tuck tail
and run. He was so much stronger than me; I would have hit the door
with so much force it would have looked like superman was fleeing
the premises.
I made my way to the
kitchen and started a pot of coffee and as I looked out the window
into the back yard I felt strong warm arms wrap around me from
behind.
    “Good morning beautiful.”
Tyler said as he pressed a kiss to the top of my head.
    I turned around in his
arms, and looked at the shirtless man standing in front of
me.
    “Morning. How did you
sleep last night?” I inquired.
“I would have slept a lot
better had I been with you, but the couch isn’t that
bad.”
    “I’m sorry; I kind of
needed to be alone last night after everything.”
    “I understand. So what’s
on the agenda today?” He questioned.
“Not sure, I’d like to go
back to city hall but I think it’s pointless. Maybe you were right
and your dad can help me out.”
    “I’m sure he can. Why
don’t we get dressed and head over to Jake and Emily’s for the day.
Jake went to the airport to pick up his friends, but we could hang
out with Emily and Maisy for the day.”
    “Sounds like fun, give me
about thirty minutes to get ready and then we can head
out.”
    “Take you time, I’ll make
a quick breakfast while you do okay?”
    “Thank you
Tyler.”
    Waking up with him around
was just too normal. It was like we had been together forever and not the
brief time we had. I wanted to be wierded out by it all but just
couldn’t. I knew that Tyler would never hurt me, and I didn’t plan
on destroying him either.
    Once was finished getting
ready I trotted down the stairs and Tyler was waiting for me with a
plate of toast and fruit. “Something light? I know they have a big
feast planned for the evening.” He chuckled.
    “Spoiling me already? You
should know that’s probably not a good idea, I might get used to
it.” I winked.
We got in his truck and
drove through town on the way to his brother’s house.
    “So you brother and his
wife seem like nice people, how did they meet?” I asked.
    “They met in college; they
were in New York studying to be lawyers. I think they drifted
apart, but ended up finding each other. Jake had a law firm in New
York, but they moved here right before my niece was
born.”
    “Why would he just leave
everything he worked for?” I wondered.
“Gave it all up for Emily.
He still has a job in Dallas, but that man is crazy about her. I
think if she asked him he would give up a kidney for
her.”
    “That’s not such a bad
thing; at least they love each other. It must be nice to have that
sort of commitment from someone.”
    “Yeah I guess so. She’s
great though, and I see the way she handles my brother, they are
good together.”
I could see the look of
yearning on Tyler’s face, I knew he had a fucked up time when it
came to his marriage, but someday he would find the right person to
be with.
    “Have you heard from your
fiancée?” Tyler asked.
    “Uh yeah, long story, but
the short version is, he fucked his secretary, got her pregnant a
while back and we broke off the engagement.” I laughed.
    “That’s rough, how are you
handling it?”
    “Me? I’m fine really. It
was for the best. He was a good guy…I thought, but I just didn’t
feel that crazy spark you know?”
“Yes I do.” He looked me
up and down.
Why did this man beside me
make me hot and bothered with just one look? Damn him and his sexual power over
me !
“Well here we are casa de
Jake and Emily.”
    When I climbed down from
the truck I saw the beautiful blonde come from the house. She
