half an hour to make was well worth it. She runs into the living room and jumps on my lap. When she sees me smiling, she scowls and stops her wailing, her chest panting up and down. She slaps at my shoulder. “You’re such an asshole!”
I wrap my arms around her and pull her against my chest. “You deserved it.”
She smells so fuckin’ good, like strawberries and icing sugar. Her hair is still a little damp from the shower, and her skin is so soft and smooth. I bury my face in her neck. “You’re a little shit you know, pushing me into the pool. No one else would get away with something like that.”
â€œI don’t think I got away with it,” she murmurs, touching my cheek. “My heart is still racing. You successfully scared the shit out of me.”
â€œGood,” I whisper gruffly, pulling back and looking her in the eye. “What are we doing today?”
â€œYou’re letting it go, just like that?” she asks, suspicion written all over her face. “Or do you have more spiders planted around the house?”
â€œI’m letting it go,” I say, tilting my head to the side. “At least I think I am.”
She rolls her eyes and says, “What do you want to do today? Your choice.”
What I really want to do is spend the day inside her and spank her ass for the stunt she pulled, so really we should get out of this house before I do just that.
Last night Talon finally called me back, and I chewed him out for how he expects Shay to live. He said right now there’s no other option since shit’s going down with his club, and she won’t be any safer there. I told him to get control of his MC,something he didn’t appreciate, but what the fuck? Shay should have the Wild Men at her back, not be hidden away because they can’t protect what’s theirs. You’d think having a cousin who is an MC president would have some perks, but apparently not with the Wild Men.
â€œMaybe we could go out for lunch, then go for a swim or something?” I suggest. “I’m guessing you didn’t start breakfast.”
â€œYou’d be guessing right,” she grumbles, laying her head on my chest. “You’re so comfortable.”
She places both her hands on my chest and slides them over my pecs, then down my abs.
â€œYou know I’m sure we could find something fun and . . . energetic to do indoors,” she says, biting her lower lip and staring up at me with her bedroom eyes. I don’t know what’s changed from last night to now, but something has.
I lean forward and press my lips against hers, then say, “Shay, I told Talon I wouldn’t touch you. Are you going to make me a liar?”
She shuffles on my lap, letting me know she can feel my hardness. “He doesn’t have to know. Do you think I talk to my cousin about my sex life?” She pauses. “Even when I had one, I didn’t.”
â€œIf he straight out asks me, I’m not going to lie,” I warn her. I don’t know what Talon will do to her that could be worse than what she’s going through now. I’m not scared of Talon, but I don’t like to go against my word.
â€œThen don’t,” she whispers, glancing down at my lips. “I don’t want to be selfish, but I want you. I’ll worry about whatever comes later another day. This is me letting you know.”
She moves to slide off me but I grip her hips to keep her in her place.
â€œVinnie—” She opens her mouth to speak so I take the opportunity to kiss her. And I mean really kiss her. Moving my hands to cup her face, I kiss her deeply, savoring her taste, loving the way she feels pressed up against me. Her soft lips. Fuck.
She pushes her body into mine, rubbing herself against my throbbing cock. The world closes in on us as I finally get a proper taste of what I want, a forbidden taste, which makes it all
